The Differences of Longman Dictionary and Oxford Dictionary. Writing for Student
Dictionary is very important for every student of English Letters Department. All students must have one dictionary as their guide. There are several good dictionaries for student of English Letters Department, such as Longman Dictionary of Contemporary English and Oxford Advanced Learner’s Dictionary.
These dictionaries are very useful and helpful for students. It gives some examples and helps the user to get a meaning of a word or phrase. The English Letters Department’s students already have a basic knowledge in learning English language, so these dictionaries are exactly the good one for them. Both of them are used by an upper intermediate till advanced level. Longman Dictionary of Contemporary English and Oxford Advanced Learner’s Dictionary are really easier the way for students to learn English language.
On the other hand, these two good dictionaries also provide completely different features.
Longman Dictionary of Contemporary English is an American edition and Oxford Advanced Learner’s Dictionary is a British Edition. It’s quite dissimilar in some aspects of phonetic and pronunciation. The pages of each dictionary are also entirely different. Longman Dictionary of Contemporary English has 1,690 pages, it is can contrast to the Oxford Advanced Learner’s Dictionary that only has 1,428 pages.
Either Longman Dictionary of Contemporary English or Oxford Advanced Learner’s Dictionary provides good aspects for everybody to learn an English language.
