The lighting used in the film creates the tone, emotion and intensity experienced in different scenes throughout the movie. One scene in particular that has left a lasting image in my mind, is when Miss Sue is speaking to Michael concerning a rival football team whose bodies are buried on their field under the turf. The intent is to scare Michael and the low lighting and shadows in the scene successfully set the tone for the story told by Miss Sue to have efficacy.
