Statement of a purpose
Puto bungbong is a delicacy popular during Christmas season. It is a filipino native snack made from sticky rice which is steamed in small chimney like steamers. These are sold beside churches during “simbang gabi” or early morning mass.
My mission is to make Puto Bongbong a non occasional delicacy which can be serve anytime in any occasion or even without occasions.

Background of the Purpose
The most loved of all Philippine desserts that Filipinos cannot wait to eat during the Christmas season in the Philippines is puto bumbong, a purple-colored sticky rice cake shaped like small logs and flavored with muscovado sugar or panutsa, grated meat of fresh coconuts, and butter or margarine. puto bumbong is made using a local lansungan, a tin or stainless steel steamer placed on top of a pot of boiling water Lansungan has either two or three open holes where bamboo tubes covered with muslin or cheese cloth are mounted. Filipinos pour into the bamboo tubes the ingredients for puto bumbong then steam them. In a matter of seconds, puto bumbong should be cooked – fantastic speed! While preparing puto bumbong is fairly fast to make, lansungan is not easy to find outside of the Philippines.

Benefits of the Proposal
Each 100g serving of Puto Bongbong contains 252% calories, 1g Fat, 57g Carbs and 4g Protein. It also

    A. The Vietnamese pho had been around over 100 years. It originated in the Nam Dinh province just southwest of Hanoi and then spread to other parts of the country. In 1954, under the Geneva Accords, Vietnam was split in two. To avoid communism, many northerners migrated southward, bringing their pho culture with them. In democratic South Vietnam, pho made differently from its conservative northern traditions.…

Whenever I have a chance to talk any of my foreign friends into a Vietnamese dish, it is surely “Pho” – my most favorite dish in the world. Pho is made of rice noodle in your choice of broth, the meat that matches the broth flavor, and various kinds of herbs. The key ingredient to bring the right taste of Pho is its broth. It should have a richly luscious taste of meats or bones, most commonly the beef, pork or chicken bones, which are simmered for hours so that all the nutrition and natural flavor are added to the broth. This tasty broth poured into a bowl containing layers of silky white rice noodle, which is topped extremely tender meats and various kinds of healthy fragrant herbs, bring you a perfectly savory flavor and mouth-watering…

The global recession and rising flour and transport prices have had effects across the entire food sector in the Philippines. Small portion or single serve bakery items are becoming more popular as consumers become more cost conscious. Bread is the leading item usually sold in the Philippines. Breads commonly eaten in the Philippines seem to be a blend of western style recipes with Philippine additions. For example, breads offered by some of the most popular bakeries, in addition to slice sandwich loaves, include sweet breads with raisins, sweet breads with Ube (purple yam, a popular filling in the Philippines), brioche with ham, macapuno (young coconut), or ube filling, flaky pastry with black beans, yellow beans, taro, ube or pork. In recent years the company expanded its product line to include pastries, high fibre…

Tapsilog is a popular Filipino dish commonly served for breakfast. The term is coined from combining the Filipino words tapa, sinangag, and itlog which are the main components of the dish. We chose to show how tapsilog can be geographical because we want to emphasize that anything can be geographical, and tapsilog, a common Filipino dish is usually not the kind of product that people would associate with geography. As mentioned, tapsilog is made up of tapa (dried meat), sinangag (fried rice) and itlog (egg), but it doesn’t stop there. Each ingredient is also made up of even more ingredients that we have traced to have originated from and traveled through different places in and out of the country before it reaches our plates. This further supports the idea that tapsilog, like every product, is geographical.…
