Technology in Our Lives
Technology in our lives Imagine your life without technology and how often we use it. Technology plays a vital role in our everyday life’s we use it for everything from doing math to reading a book. Technology has made some huge advances in the past couple years. They have made it part of our daily lives to the point where I think we might start to become too dependent on it, which would not be good for us in the long run. There might be a day where our technology stops working and we might not know how to get around without our cell phones and our gps. We have become so dependent on technology that it’s considered a necessity rather than a luxury. Like for example the internet is huge piece of technology that we use every day, we use it to look up words and questions we need answers for.
Technology will never fade because we use it and need it so much the advances we have made in technology in the last couple years have been amazing which makes us want it more and more, because when new things come out it makes our previous things old and new things are faster better and more efficient. Like cars have some huge advances in technology like hybrid cars that can get up to 50 mpg its crazy to think that you have to only fill up your hybrids gas tank up once and it will get you from Sacramento to san Diego and back imagine how much money everyone will save when they start using hybrids because gas will become expensive enough to were hybrids will become necessary. Technology has been one the biggest advances we have made everyone in the world uses it on daily basis it has become part of daily lives to use technology. The world would be different if there was no technology people would be different the world would be very different due to the fact that certain ways we communicate would be different, there wouldn’t be any text messages being sent out or people making phones call to hang out with your friends. Also the internet wouldn’t be there for your

Currently we are in a long drawn out war that never seems to end and still people today tune out to what is really important and draw into the meaningless technology that surrounds them. One example of how people have become dependent on technology is that there is no longer a necessity to go into a bookstore and purchase a hardcover or paperback book. The aspect of standing in line waiting for the hottest release to come out is also not a requirement. “People are turning to technologies such as the Kindle, the Nook, iPods, iPads and even cell phones to turn the pages of their favorite books” (Clarke, & Besnoy, 2010, p. 47). It is very easy now to just turn on your favorite piece of technology and download the latest book listed on the bestseller list without leaving the comfort of your…

Just recently, our class had the assignment of 24 hours unplugged where we all had to go without technology for 24 hours. I can’t honestly say that I enjoyed my unplugged experience. Television is not a big thing to me, although there are a few shows I do enjoy. The internet, computer, and phone I use daily, more than once, so that was a really tough thing for me to handle. My day was completely different in terms of logistics, as I use the computer daily for my school work and email, so I had a lot of difficulty being able to do any school work, or work in general. I also use the phone to contact my family, friends, and boyfriend. I did not enjoy this aspect of living “unplugged”. I definitely hated the fact that I could not do any work or talk to anyone. Plus I am nosey so I love to watch the news and know what is going on daily, and I couldn’t do that either. I would say that it was easy when I first began, but as the hours went on, I got bored and I would have to say that I gave up. I don’t think psychological effects really played a big part, honestly. It is clear to me now, that technology definitely plays a big role in our society, maybe even bigger than people tend to realize.…
