Teacher's Day
I didn’t come to school last Monday, which was actually Teacher’s Day. Yes I was too lazy to come to school. Firstly, we’re in the middle of an examination and to add to that, I don’t think most of the teachers want to see me in school. Just so you know, I’m having a little bit of a drama with some of the teachers in this school. What it’s about, I don’t think any of you have to know. So, instead of detention, Amirah wants us to write about what happened on the day itself.

So I went around school, asking people about what happened on that day. Okay, frankly, that is a lie. All I did was talk to my friend Faten, and asked her to write some notes about that day. Therefore, whatever I write here is according to what Faten wrote. I was told that the day started with the usual assembly at the field we always have on Teacher’s Day. Some teachers gave their speeches. Our head prefect gave hers too. I asked Faten whether the students sat or stood up the whole time because I think I heard Wei Hung say that the students sat down and the prefects were scolded by Mr Fletcher? But in the contrary, Faten said they all stood up the whole time. So, I don’t really know what happened. Anyhow, I wouldn’t mind if they sat down. They’re humans, not robots.

They had a break for a while after the assembly and there was a tele-match between the teachers. I can get the picture of it, students cheered happily while the teachers played as hard as they could. Typical. Meanwhile, in the hall some students, or performers, practiced their performances. After the tele-match is over, the students and teachers rushed into the hall and took their seats. I can also picture the situation in the hall. It must have been really noisy and jam-packed and all those sad little students had to sit on the floor. Again, typical.

Teachers and students are then entertained by a few performances. I don’t know who performed. Tried to ask my friends, but even they don’t know who sang. Oh I know one

Everyone was assigned specific tasks and kept up to date with each other’s roles in the class. This meant that everyone was aware of what everyone else was doing, so just in case on the day, or during the planning of the event someone was absent, we could fill their shoes relatively easily by stepping in for them.…

He would probably justify keeping the other students in with the idea that they will learn a lesson and could use the time to do work anyway. They would feel angry because it was unfair for them to be punished when they did their work. Some might feel embarrassed for getting others in trouble (someone might even speak up in their defense); some might be angry they’ve been punished; others might be sorry and acknowledge that they deserved it.…

Once again, I was placed in Mrs.Metcalfe who teaches second grade at Bens Branch Elementary. Mrs.Metcalfe took attendance while the students waited patiently on the carpet. After she took attendance, she addressed that she had taken some privileges away from the students because the students did not picked up their mess after having centers and would not follow instructions that the teacher gave. She explained that centers might return for the upcoming school year if they behaved properly. After she addressed the issues of the students, she instructed everyone to go back to their desks and waited till they put their thumbs which meant that they were ready for the lesson of the day. Mrs.Metcalfe went up to the front of the class to use the projector and expected her students to follow what she was doing on their worksheets.…

One typical blistering hot Monday, the morning announcements came on at Sky High School, in Dallas, Texas. Mr. Fro, (the math teacher), tries to calm everyone down, but just in time Payton, the girl everyone taeses, walks in. Sarah, the typical mean cheerlearder who talks about evryone, (she would even talk about your dog), said, "Look what the cat drug in, take off your costume it's not Halloween yet!" Everyone started laughing, even Mr. Fro, but Payton doesn't say anything, she walks to her desk because this is an evryday thing. The principal starts talking, but he doesn't mention the death of Bananas, the freshman who just started going to Sky High. Everyone knew about the house fire that killed her and her…

I was sitting in the classroom when the principal came on the intercom, announcing that the bells would be delayed, and those not staying after school to go to the cafeteria. So several classmates and I started headed to the lunchroom. As we walked in, teachers with panicky and terrified faces frantically directed us to the tables. People were whispering, crying, and yelling and screaming. I sat down at one of the long, smooth, freezing brown tables, waiting anxiously to hear what was happening. I looked around and saw ugly white walls and tons of people. As more students poured in the vast cafeteria, teachers and administrators were walking hurriedly around, with horrified faces, and tear marks streaming down their faces. I, as many others, looked puzzled, student to student, wondering what in the world was going on.…

They were making the most dreadful noise that day, they sounded like crows squawking as they screamed across the classroom. They were all exceptionally bright students with so much going for them. And yes I know you’re probably thinking how does she know? I did not remember how the conversation between teachers and parents stopped. The scene I still remember now is that we got out of the office silently, and every student walked with parents away in different directions. I did not know what would happen to them, but this was what happened to me. My parents and I got into the car and had remained silence for about five minutes. The time passed slowly, like as the time and air around me were freezing. Finally, the silence was broken at a waiting for a red…

The students had an owl treat bag waiting for them at each of their desks. The students were not assigned seats the first day and were allowed to sit wherever they pleased. After they were all seated, Ms. McIntire introduced herself and then had me introduce myself. Ms. McIntire did not want to overload the students, so she only went over the classroom rules and her procedures for taking the role and leaving the classroom. The classroom rules are posted as a reminder at the front of the room where they are easily seen by each student. The procedures for taking the role and leaving the classroom are at the back of the room, but still easily visible to the…

I got ready quickly because I was curious of the time I did not want to be late for my first day at school. Standing in front of the mirror admiring my new uniform I was impressed with myself looking so smart. I was a little bit confused of how I should tie a knot in my new school tie. I was panic I rushed over towards my dad and tied my tie for me. I was feeling lot me relaxed. Subsequently, I made my way to the dining table; I had cereal with cold, white, fresh milk. As I had my first bite, my hand had a strong but stable grip on the spoon because I did not want to spill it on my brand new uniform. It felt like tight roping across Grand Canyon. I felt under pressure as I saw the clock reach 7:30am so I rushed my breakfast like a cheater chasing its pray in the jungle. I grabbed my bag and went sat down in the car. There was a sign of relief hopping I will not be late for my first day of school. When I was sitting in the car all I could think about was being late for school on the first day. This made me feel miserable and the car journey felt like the car did not have wheels. Finally, I reached school by 8:00am.…
