Today, Target is the second largest general merchandise in America with many competitors who offer very limited competition. As one may look at it, Target isn’t really a discount store, but rather a superstore where a customer could get everything they need in one single location. Target is not the ideal store where customers would want to go if they are looking for low cost products such as Wal-Mart; however, the remarkable in-store experience allows a consumer to spend more money than they need to but also persuades them to come back and shop again. Target was able to grow as the second largest merchandise in America because managers are investing in employees that are willing to learn, and are able to identify and address customer’s needs and desires. …show more content…
