Swag Money
Kristi Lyn Chilson was born on January 24th, 1967. She has had many hobbies, achievements, and a really good career. My mom, Kristi Chilson, is a really cool woman for multiple reasons.

My mom has a very interesting family. Her parents died at the ages of 80(mother) and 82(father). She also has my dad, me my sister and the rest of her side of the family, plus she has my dad’s side too. She cares a lot for them and would do anything for them because she loves them to death.

My mom has had a good line of careers in her life. Her first job was at McDonald’s during her sophomore year until a few weeks after she graduated from high school. After that she worked at Patsy Lou’s. Eventually, she went into work for an old people home for about 5-6 years. After me and my sister were born, she was a stay at home mom while my dad was at work. Now she works as an aid on the special needs bus for GISD. My mom has gained a bunch of knowledge from all of her jobs and especially has made so many really good friends.

Some of my mom’s accomplishments are getting married, having kids, working hard, and making good friends. My parents got married in 1997. Then 3 years later, had me in 2000!(: Two years later in 2002, she had my little sister. She has had many good jobs and has made many good friends through her life.

Those were some reasons why my mother, Kristi Chilson, is a very inspiring, cool, and bodacious. She is an awesome mother, family member, friend, and general person.

Sometimes I tell her to just stop working and just focus on school, but she knows that her kids are so important to her that she is willing to give up some hours of sleep to give others happiness. If everyone is willing to sacrifice something to give others around us happiness, it would give many people opportunities they’ll never encounter. Being open-minded, makes my mom unique because giving an ear to hear about what others have to say can always lead to great friendships. My mom has always been a hero to me.She has done so much for me ever since I was born and mostly ever since she went back to school. She always tells me that she is going back for my siblings and I. To show us that she, a mother of four and as a person who wasn’t born here in the United States, can accomplish anything if she can put her mind set to then she can and is still willing to give up her time to care and nourish her family as much as she can. My mother has had a huge impact on my life and it is because of her that I am the person I am today and today where I am. Most people say I am a lot like my mother, both physically and mentally. We both have the same mannerism, facial expressions, and thought processes. We love to learn and travel, eat exotic and luxuries food, spend time with family, and we both have an incredible urge for knowledge. From observing my mother's behavior and listening to her lectures, she has had a great influence on my life, choices, and personality.…

There were a lot of things that I didn’t do with my mom as a child that many other families do. We did a lot of traveling when we were younger, but we stopped taking trips after I was seven years old. Although my aunt and uncle always stepped in to take us on camping trips or to go hiking or skiing, every time we went I missed my mom and I wished that she were there with me. My mom always felt really tired when she came home after a long days work, so she never planned big, elaborate birthday parties or family events. She didn’t attend my junior high commencement because she couldn’t walk through the venue or stand for too long.…

My mother was always involved with in school activities. During my Elementary school years we would always have Halloween parties then parade through town with our costumes on. My Mom was always one of the first parents there to help set up the food for the party and to walk through town with all of us students. In fifth grade, our school did a tile project with the entire fifth grade class, my Mom volunteered with that for the past seven years. This tile project consisted of several hours of work during and after school. All the parent volunteers would put an extra layer of paint on the entire tile and then fire them to make the project complete. The High School always holds an award ceremony on the last week of school at one o’clock p.m. My mom was one of the many parents that would always sit in the crowd and congratulate myself and each of…

My mom is a very independent person. My mom raised 7 girls on her own, by staying true to herself and learning from her mistakes, even when times got tough she fought through. My mom worked hard her entire life. I remember times when she would walk to work and sleep on the couch so we had a good night’s rest. There were also times when my mom really struggled but she never asked for aid from a family member or government agency. I can remember my mom always taking care of her children and never giving up.…

When I think of my mother, the first thing that comes to mind is her striking appearance. She is the epitome of a brown-eyed bombshell. My mother has long, perfect legs to match her beautifully freckled, equally long arms. She has a nose like a button and fine, brown hair. I love the way she does her makeup- so subtle, yet bold. Her style is as classy as classy gets and she prefers the color black. Even on days when my mother is angry or gloomy, her smile seems to be contagious. I remember always wanting to look like mommy and walking around in her high heels. To this day, I still love using her pillows because I can smell her perfect, indescribable scent.…

My mother had always told me that I should “Do what makes me happy. Not what pays the most. Money isn’t happiness.” Growing up, my family always struggled with money. The lack of money, never really phased me as much as it would other kids my age. My mother always found ways to entertain me as a child and still to this day, my mother and I can still have a memorable time without money. She's the kind of person who has thoughtful discussions, the kind of mother who always has time for her four children, and the kind of woman who taught me to fight in what I believe in. Growing up with such a strong role model, I developed many of her enthusiasms. I not only came to love the excitement of learning simply for the sake of knowing something new, but I also came to understand the idea of giving back to the community in exchange for a new sense of life, love, and spirit. Everything that my mother has ever done has been overshadowed by the thought behind it. In her endless love of everything and everyone she is touched by, I have seen a hope and life that is truly…

She is someone who has played a significant role in my life and continues to do so. Independent and self-driven, my mom is someone I aspire to be like. Because my father struggles with a gambling addiction, our family income is not stable. Eventually, my mom decided to stop relying on my dad and began to work in order to lighten the financial burden. Her courage to become self-reliant has given me the urge to become an independent individual as well. She has shown me that with determination, anything is possible. Having the urge to be as independent as my mom, I decided to work during my sophomore year in high school. Ever since then, I have relied less on my parents financially. Although I am self-reliant to an extent, I still have a long path to go before I am as hardworking as my mom. Participating in NYRR Run for the Future can further show my sense of independence as I am running in order to improve my own physical…

My mom is one of the most inspiring people in my life and what makes her so special is that she seems to have no idea how motivating she is. She has led our family and guided my siblings with simply being herself. She leads by examples, showing us her values and making sure we live with a roff on top of our head and food to eat at the table. She would tell us us to do homework , study and to ''never give up''. She tell us to treat everyone we meet with respect and I have never heard of her making a rude comment or put someone down. She teaches us to be proud of who we are and make smart decisions so we will never be ashamed.…
