Susan Cain's The Power Of Introverts

Have you ever wondered what it would be like to be introverted? Do you think it is any different from being extroverted? There are many different sources that say that there is a big difference between the two. Sometimes it can depend on the culture people grow up in. People have a norm and they believe everyone needs to be that specific way, usually extroverted. If someone acts or seems different then that norm other people think they are not normal. Lots of introverts feel like they do not have a voice because they function outside the norm. Everyone deserves to have a voice, whether as an introverted or extroverted.

No one believes that introverts can do things extroverts do, like being a public speaker or a leader for example. Susan Cain is living proof that introverts can be great leaders and great public speakers. Susan Cain is an introvert but she does not let that stop her. She overcomes things people tell her she cannot do, even though there are bumps in the road. In the TEDx Talks “The Power of Introverts” by Susan Cain, she said that she once felt like she had to “prove to myself that I could be bold and assertive too” (Cain). In the previously mentioned TEDx Talks, “The Power of Introverts” by Susan Cain, she also stated that she was told, by someone she knew, that everyone needed to “work very hard to be outgoing” (Cain). Not all of us are outgoing like other people and that's fine. We do not need to work hard to be outgoing, everyone is different in their own unique way. Many introverts have struggled with people saying that they should not be introverted and they need to try and be more extroverted and Susan Cain was one of these people.
