The four idols written by Frances Bacon were very influential, and used for many years after he passed. It’s believed that these can only be understood, and unable to completely be forgotten. His Idols consist of prejudice, myopia, rhetoric, and deception. Not just one, but all four could be applied to the way our veterans are treated. Although, the United States of America will always be a great country, people that have once been called a hero have literally become an outcast. Any individual who gave their life for this country should always have the support, and honor, of this great nation. The United States of American’s heroes must come first. The legislative branch- the Congress, and the Senate- is tasked with making laws. They are tasked with making decisions that affect every person in this great nation. As history has demonstrated they often make decisions that have severely detrimental impacts on our lives. For these reasons, Idola Specus, or Idols of the Cave is considered to be an example of Bacon’s writings. The executive branch- the president, and all the bureaucrats- is tasked with faithfully executing the law. The president is required to make decisions in regards to how the law is enforced, and it is the task of the bureaucrat to carry out those decisions. This is an obvious example of Idola Theatr, or Idols of the Theater. There is reason to provide special mention of bureaucrats. The language of bureaucrats uses special definitions, obtuse linguistics, and contradictory wording. Regulations are impossible to comply with due to the aforementioned reasons. There can be no doubt Sir Francis Bacon would have considered this an example of Idola Fori, or Idola of the
