Summary Of Stand Alone By Lashner
This is the first Lashner I've read so I can't rate against his other books but since it can hold its own as a stand-alone story, that's already a plus for me. The first chapter seemed a little bit too fraught with zen-type philosophy that I worried it was going to be one of those books where the author intrudes into the story by showing off his love of words but it eased up soon enough that it blended right into the main character's personality. And reading the buildup of all the essential characters' complexities was quite enjoyable. The plot had enough twists to make it interesting and moved the story along at a nice pace without making it so convoluted for the sake of being clever. Don't know much at all about mixed drinks to know how accurate

I liked this novel very much because it shows how precious life is, and that drinking and driving is NEVER a good idea. The story makes me realize that with maturity, comes difficult choices, and you must always be wise. Things like this happen every day and people always think, “Oh it won’t happen to me,” but you never know. I would recommend this book to my friends because I think the story line would influence their choices greatly. I think it would give them a better perspective on making good…

I would like to start off saying I really enjoyed this book so far. I really like the text, and description it shows. There is a lot of realistic experience in the book that helps me create my visual of the book. “They didn’t do nothin’! They didn’t do a goddamned thing! What the hell’re you tryin’ to pull?” Most books are cheesy written, and worded. This book was different, and really fit into my interest. I usually find it hard to get into a book, an reading a lot of the time makes me sleepy. I was able to adapt to this book quickly to gain a lot of questions an wondering what was going to happen next.…

I enjoyed this book thoroughly and always kept me intrigued until the end. It had small twists in it that were rather easy to interpret but it was also very interesting. I like how its really intense and calming and also some parts funny. I like how it talks about teen pregnancy because some young teens will want to get pregnant at such a young age and if they read this book it may help them change their mind and wait till they get older, thats very important to me. I really like the chapter where Bobby was talking about the wall when he was trying to get everything back in place and try to see who he really was, i thought that part was really good. I like how it goes back and fourth for the chapters like then and now, it makes you want to read more because in one chapter it tells you really good information and you just want to read even more till the…

I thought the writer had a really good flow of style and expressed herself really well, especially with the storyline. It was a great story overall, the writer was very graphic with her words and it kind of made me feel like I was there re-living that moment with her. Her style was cool and she built up the story with conflict. The suspense was awesome because she made it feel like it was going to be good from the start to the end, but then I felt the tension when things became dark and muggy. The argumentation was written well and the story ended on a good note. The writer wrote for her people and you could literally…

One thing James Dashner is good at is Storytelling. Making up this world and coming up with all the plot twists, he's a very talented writer. He tends to write creating suspense, making the next plot twist come at the right moment and right time, making you want to go on to the next chapter. James made it literally impossible for me to try and figure out what was going to happen. Like many of the characters in the book, I had no idea who I could trust or believe. Some of the plot twists and answers some things I questioned, but overall it was a fast-paced tale that easily drew me in, and it will draw you in too that’s why I recommend this book to everyone.…
