“Advertiser’s frequently use the testimony of a celebrity to support a claim”. Sue Jozui in her passage states that the use of celebrities to sell a product is unjust. The author supports her argument by first explaining how this form of marketing is misleading to the viewer. She continues by stating how unfair celebrity advertising is. The author’s purpose is to persuade the audience that celebrities should not be used in advertising so that public knows exactly how well the product is that they are buying. The author establishes an urgent tone for the elder community. Jozui’s argument is invalid because the consumer should not be persuaded to buy the product just because of a celebrity, the product must sell itself even if it has celbrity help. Each company should have the same opportunities presented to them, no matter how much money one has over the other. “This kind of marketing is misleading and insults the intelligence of the audience”. It is crazy to think that some person will pay for something by the mere looks of the commercial and advertising. Why should the public be tricked into paying for something that isn’t going to benefit them in the slightest? These people don’t know what they are truly buying, and spend their money before they read anything, or see if they will use this product or not. To these people I say, “why should a company not be able to endorse their product how they choose to?”. If the consumer decides they don’t care on learning about the product before they buy it, then that is their problem. The community is smart enough to tell apart what they do and do not need. People should be intellectual enough to not make stupid
