Student Ambassador Personal Statement
All my life I have gravitated towards the sciences, especially biology. In high school I had many wonderful opportunities to intern and test out jobs that I thought I could do for the rest of my life. I was first exposed to the world of engineering when I spent my fall semester senior year as a biomedical engineering intern at Georgia Tech (was hard for me to type that out). After a semester of grueling work and numerous discussions with the professors and undergraduate students I worked with, I decided biomedical was definitely not the route I wanted to take. I did however, realize that I love the world of engineering. Engineering can be incredibly broad, but extremely narrow at the same time. I enjoy the flexibility of my major and how it keeps me exposed to various parts …show more content…
I have been able to join clubs, network, work, and grow all while receiving a fantastic education. UGA and The College of Engineering provides a support system and a network of faculty and staff that truly loves on their students and wants to see them grow. Here at UGA I am able to balance my heavy academic life and still have my social and extracurricular life flourish. My desire to be a Student Ambassador stems from my appreciation for The College of Engineering and all it has provided for me. Student Ambassadors represent all the positives of our college and are prime examples of the fantastic accomplishments a student can achieve here at The University of Georgia. While pursuing my engineering degree, I have tried my best to keep an open mind and stay involved with all of UGA’s campus. I believe I would be an asset to the Student Ambassador program because I am willing to use my past and current experiences to help my fellow engineering students. One of the best highlights of The University of Georgia are the meaningful networks and connections students
