The ability to attend the University of Southern California would allow me the necessary educational shift to better align an academic foundation in screenwriting with my professional aspirations. My current academic background in the field of Psychology was born from curiosity. I wanted to understand why mental illness pervaded those around me, but upon graduation I realized that I did not have the intense determination to continue to pursue a career in the field. Instead, I find that particular determination—that drive—in storytelling and writing scripts.
