Kobe: Japanese Steakhouse and Sushi Bar

Have you ever been to a Japanese Steak House? If not, you should visit Kobe’s. Kobe’s is a Japanese Steak House located on International Drive in Orlando. Now, I will give my review of Kobe’s. Walking into Kobe’s gives you an amazing vibe. It makes me feel like I just walked into Japan. The first thing that caught my eye was the koi pond. The koi fish are brightly colored. (While waiting, buy some fish food from the hostess! The fish are a lot of fun to feed.) After feeding the hungry koi fish, our hostess seated us. After being seated by the hostess, we waited around five minutes for a waiter. The waiter was a Japanese women which just made the restaurant feel even more Japanese. She took our orders of drinks. She returned pretty quickly to take our order. The menu was so expansive I did not know what to choose. So I made a last minute decision to go with the Sirloin Steak. In a few minutes the chef will arrive with a cart of food. He poured oil over the hibachi grill and lit it with a match. The whole grill went up in flames. You could feel the heat in your face. Our waiter arrived with mushroom soup for everyone. The soup was pretty bland. It tasted like water and salt. It was served in a small glass bowl with a huge spoon. As we ate the soup the chef was preparing noodles. The waiter returned and took our bowls of soup and served the Crisp Green Salad. The salad had very vibrant colors. Orange, greens, purples, and some brown colored vegetables. Finally the noodles were done. The noodles were amazing. They were the best part of the meal this far. Next, chef Phei started cooking fried rice. He heated up the grill and started cooking. He put shrimp in the rice so he cut off the tails. With his spatula he flicked the shrimp tails into his hat one by one. He got a round of applause! Next thing on the menu was the meat. The

It captures a certain aesthetic and attitude towards one’s work unique to Japan.…

One of her other dishes that I felt highlighted Mrs. Levin’s description of Chinese cooking was her sour vegetable with beef. The first step she did was add 2 spoons of olive oil, enough so that it wouldn’t stick to the wok, but not too much as to make the food all oily. She diced onions and garlic, put them on the wok, and turned the fire to high. She then put the raw chopped beef and sour vegetables, and began mixing. The mixing took around 15 minutes and in addition, my mom added tomatoes, yellow pepper, and two spoons of sugar. Occasionally, she would put her hand on the beef and taste it, to check whether it had the right flavor. This follows from Mrs. Levin’s formula of “P-O-S-S”, which stands for pepper, oil, salt, and sugar. This balance of flavors made my mother’s Chinese dish unbelievably…
