My under-graduate program in Electronics & Communication at Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, Hyderabad covered various core topics namely VLSI Design, Electronic Devices & Circuits, Pulse & Digital Circuits, Microprocessors & Microcontrollers etc. This was in conjunction with the lab courses on Digital Signal Processing, Analog & Digital IC applications and Microprocessors & Microcontrollers. Furthermore, the work I did during the senior year in designing & simulating the analog and digital integrated circuits using Pspice and Xilinx ISE software provided me with a good overview of VLSI design, synthesis and implementation processes. The well thought-out course structure enabled the smooth transition between theoretical and practical courses and helped me score 72.54 % with distinction.…

This led me to opt for Electronics and Communication Engineering in my under graduate course at Vasireddy Venkatadri Institute of Technology, affiliated to Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University Kakinada one of the best institutes in India. The engineering curriculum gave me a strong grasp of all technical principles. This is where my quest for knowledge and rational approach to concepts has driven me to work hard and attain proficiency in my chosen area. During my undergraduate study subjects like Communication systems, Signal processing, VLSI, Control systems, Microprocessors have been my favorite subjects. In particular, I feel an affinity towards Signal processing & VLSI, and would like to specialize in these areas. During my course work I visited Efftronics, a leader in data acquisition systems and engineering solutions, which provides software and hardware solutions that enable companies to develop better products faster and more effectively. This helped me understand how the problems are approached in real time. In the third year I was introduced to software like Xilinx, MATLAB wherein I was able to apply my theoretical knowledge to real time…

By signal processing we mean the type of operations that is performed by the system to the signal. Digital signal processing is concerned with the digital representation of signals and the use of digital processors to analyze, modify, or extract information from signals. The signals used in most DSP are derived from analog signals which have been sampled at regular intervals and converted into a digital form. DSP is now used in many areas where analog methods were previously used and in applications which are difficult or impossible with analog…

DIGITAL SIGNAL PROCESSING  A signal is defined as any physical quantity that varies with time, space or another independent variable.  A system is defined as a physical device that performs an operation on a signal.  System is characterized by the type of operation that performs on the signal. Such operations are referred to as signal processing. Advantages of DSP 1. A digital programmable system allows flexibility in reconfiguring the digital signal processing operations by changing the program. In analog redesign of hardware is required. 2. In digital accuracy depends on word length, floating Vs fixed point arithmetic etc. In analog depends on components. 3. Can be stored on disk. 4. It is very difficult to perform precise mathematical operations on signals in analog form but these operations can be routinely implemented on a digital computer using software. 5. Cheaper to implement. 6. Small size. 7. Several filters need several boards in analog, whereas in digital same DSP processor is used for many filters. Disadvantages of DSP 1. When analog signal is changing very fast, it is difficult to convert digital form .(beyond 100KHz range) 2. w=1/2 Sampling rate. 3. Finite word length problems. 4. When the signal is weak, within a few tenths of millivolts, we cannot amplify the signal after it is digitized. 5. DSP hardware is more expensive than general purpose microprocessors & micro controllers.…
