Stanley Mentality
What does the future hold for us? No one knows, no one knows for

sure, only God. With anticipation and optimism we view it as a variety

program or better yet as smooth road with bumps every let's say

million miles throughout which a myriad of events take place that can be

both positive and then again not so positive. However, a person should

always tend to look at their future with a constructive and upbeat outlook,

which enables them to grow in all aspects of their health triangle.

Nevertheless, there are those who view the future with a completely

unenthusiastic, depressing, downbeat, and negative outlook. This is

categorized as a victim mentality. Blaming everyone else for what occurs in

your life and

They are searching

for lost treasure that had been lost for over ten years. One day Stanley

decides to run away with Zero from the whole camp environment because

they aren't being treated fairly and they also want to get to the bottom of

this lost treasure deal. So they set of by themselves to try to put the pieces

of the puzzle together. Here is where we see him overcoming victim

happening to him other than befriending Zero. He stopped thinking

negatively things such as things are going wrong, or badly, or not to my

liking, then someone is to blame. It is necessary to identify the person(s),

circumstance(s), or source(s) of why things are not as I think they should be. He began to take action to overcome his pessimistic attitude. In the

relations. He therefore improved his economic status and got himself out of

camp reunited with his family, this proved to him once and for all that

You are as real and authentic as any of the folks who would say

otherwise, and you have a right to be your own person. Loving yourself

better may very well require that you believe in yourself more fully. Are you

prepared to do this, or do you think that to do so would be pretentious?

Would it be better if everyone thought you were worthy and capable, but

you? And what about the change; do we really want to make changes in

our lifestyle, in order to get to a place where we enjoy life more overall?

Thinking positively can help you overcome victim mentality and surpass all

that negative things within your life. Learning to be resilient and adapt

effectively and recover from difficulty, or crisis can help you to bounce back

quickly. In Stanley's case, he was very resilient even when he faced great

hardships and tragedies. Viewing what goes wrong as a challenge to be

challenge will help people triumph over victim mentality. Remember we o

only live once and that's it. We have to make the most of it and be

individuals and strive to bring the ultimate best out of

It is a question of quality vs. quantity. Does the consumption of as many things as possible lead us to that happiness we all so desperately desire? And as technology develops and production becomes more efficient, does that mean we now have more free time to relax and enjoy life? Two views are suggested in this article; the first being ours, to never be satisfied with what you have and always strive for more, the second is called the Buddhist view, to be at peace with what is and learn to be satisfied with less.…

In my opinion, I believe the stereotype; “You’re Asian, you are all good at math”, is indeed harmful regardless of its positive intent, because it places an unrealistic expectation on Stanley. The expression of this stereotype immediately sets a standard that Stanley would have to live up to or else he would be labeled as subpar or unintelligent according to the ideals of his ethnicity. This, in conjunction to being put on the spot on his first day of school, would intensify the pressure placed on him for not being strong in math, ultimately inhibiting his performance at the board.…

We can build off our success to enhance not only for our own lives, but the lives of those who surround us. We can grow and learn from those who came before us. Their mistakes and triumphs can serve as lessons for all, especially future generations. We must be able to look to others for guidance, which in turn, amplifies our own lives. They are the “trees” that we branch off and grow from. By grasping every lesson and opportunity, we live deliberately and the fruits we bear become abundant. For many, living deliberately can mean doing well in school to shape a future of prosperity and having a well educated background. It can also mean taking risks and fulfilling your life to reach its greatest potential in a creative manner. No matter the goal the person creates for themselves, it all has the same basic beginning. Living deliberately is based on fluidity, not the act of being concrete. Life changes at a constant rate, and we must be willing to alter our views and goals to fit what life provides…

For me, this rings so true. I have known far too many people who have lost their lives too early due to uncontrollable situations. They never had a chance to live out all of their dreams and ambitions. But for those of us who are still fortunate enough to be on this earth, we shouldn’t take life for granted. We are blessed with only a certain amount of time in this world. It’s a sin to waste it and go after what you really long for in life.…

According to Emerson, the author of Self Reliance, “Society is a wave. The wave moves onward, but the water of which it is composed does not” (Emerson ). Everyone living in this world has a limited amount of time, a limited life, but an important tradition is to teach our children how to survive just as we learned. Those teachings, passed on from generation to generation, are the ideas and beliefs that make up a society. These ideals continue on into the future, far past any one individual life, just like a wave moves past any individual drop of water in the ocean. No two people will share the same story therefore no one will tell the same advice. We have all adopted diverse lifestyles personalized to fit our character. However, it is not only our character that is making this change, the world growing and improving every second takes a toll as well.…

We are never promised the honor to live the next day; we are never guaranteed tomorrow. You can not live regretting your decisions. You must live in the moment or the moment is wasted. The one you love more than words could describe could be gone tomorrow; the reason they are gone could get locked up. Lose focus and look away, what you turned to see can be the last thing you saw before you life flashes before your eyes. Your next breath you take in could be your last. We all realize these things at our own pace; we all have experiences that open our eyes to reality; mine were all crammed into one dramatic week. “Everything happens for a reason, but I think it's important to seek out that reason - that's how we learn” as said…

Life is a scary and thrilling rollercoaster full of ups and downs, twists, and turns, and tears and fears. Some things can make you scream with joy and pride while other things torrent upon your heart to tear you apart. Life is one of the things many people take for granted instead of living it like there is no tomorrow. Every day, every hour, every minute, and down to every second is precious; because once time rolls on, the moment is gone forever. It will only be a part of history you cannot change. While most opportunities are there every day, there are some that only come once in a lifetime.…

Everybody these days say, "You only live once" but have you ever taken the time to look at why? Kids, teenagers, and a few adults that live by the modern terms pursue their actions upon this saying. Each individual is different, we all think differently based upon what we do, how we were raised, the culture were brought up in, and other factors that relate to an individual’s life. Not everyone is going to think why we live once or if we live once do we get an after life? Some cultures actually believe in re-birth but that is a different subject. My opinion toward this question is based on my beliefs and the actions that I have taken to achieve to this mental status.…
