Stalin In Animal Farm By George Orwell
In the novel Animal Farm by George Orwell, it represents one of the most devastating attacks on a certain country and group. The book is about a group of yard animals that take over their own farm by overthrowing the farmer and soon gets overruled by a certain person. This sounds very familiar to the country Russia. Orwell goes beyond to show secret correlations to Stalin and the Revolution in Russia. The books expresses the connection between the novel and Russia from the points by Stalin being represented as a pig named Napoleon, the farm trials, and lastly from the rules that were made on the farm.
Firstly, in the novel, it is clearly shown that the pig, Napoleon, is the same exact person named Stalin from Russia who had the same effect on his country, or farm in the book. Orwell attacks Russia by calling their leader a “swine” or a pig. This pig goes mad with power and brings in certain rules into the farm that represent a communist type of government. When Napoleon wants more eggs from the hens, they stop giving them up and he starves them until death or until submission. Also Napoleon finds and captures some pigs that were helping Snowball out that were not loyal to him and he made the dogs “tear their throats out” (7.25). At the end of finding all the unloyal people there was “a pile of corpses and Napoleon's feet and the air was heavy with the smell of blood”(7.26). The demanding Napoleon went in his whole farm and exterminated the people who had different opinions than him, and people that would not follow his directions.
