Soul Narrative Analysis
Historically, the soul narrative emerged as one of the plausible resolutions to the Mortality Paradox. This belief exalted human imagination beyond the restrictions of a finitude of mortal embodiment and freed human consciousness to pursue the quest of longing eternity. If a soul is an essential part of a human being, then every person ever lived has had an eternal soul, which has to continue existing some place else once it is liberated from its human embodiment shell. Cave supports the theory for the need for a designated location in an afterlife for extraterrestrial beings by claiming that "souls if they are to live forever, must live forever somewhere." The question is where?

Specifics of a geographical location of heaven is an essential component of the Soul narrative since it determines the environment where souls would exist and interact in the afterlife, and, essentially defines the core appeal of the theory. Human vision or imagination of heaven traditionally fulfilled certain expectations.

However, in the sharp contrast to popular opinion, the current scientific consensus of psychology, neuroscience, and cognitive science rejects any notion of soul or spirit as separate from the activity of the brain because of the lack of physical andinvestigatable evidence of an immaterial entity being a part of a human organism.
Modern advances in the space exploration bring even more scientific data to the table. Hense, the geographical position of heaven had to remove itself from the immediate sky above the earth and became more distant and abstract entity. As human reach further in the outer space, the destination of Paradise continued to become more vague and ambiguous, so also did the kind of embodiment and the nature of souls relationships, which seem unable to be pinned down with any

According to Julien Musolino, a cognitive scientist, the current scientific consensus denies any view of a soul or spirit as being separate from the brain. For the naturalist, which are individuals that subscribe to the philosophy that all of our credible science and understanding of the world is based on physical reality, there really is no reason to bring in fanciful notions like the soul into play. This concept of the soul can just be referred to as the mind and just because we do not fully understand it, it does not mean individuals should just use superstition to fill the void for lack of information on the subject. However, there are more arguments that support my…

The Pentecost shows Heaven meeting Earth through the lives of many in a story told by Christians for centuries. The conversion of Paul demonstrates the connection of Heaven and Earth through the vision of one man, who completely turns his life around after an experience with the transcendence. The catacombs of Rome show their journey from Earth to Heaven, from their sarcophagi to the vault of heaven. These examples are just many that connect our world with Heaven. A contemporary example could be in the show Empire, through a character named Andre who is in a very bad place during his life, suffering from bipolar disorder and drugs addiction. Andre is on the verge of suicide from his deeds, when he finds God and prayer in rehab. He turns his life around and is circled around his beliefs. Andre is saved from God and is a walking connection between Heaven and Earth. The tangible connection between Heaven and Earth is how God connects with Earth and how his presence is felt here. These examples show how Heaven connects with Earth and points towards how many other identities and stories do the…

Kylee Schwartzbeck Mrs. Skrabak PHL-101-02 28 February 2024 Do Persons Have Souls? The term, “soul”, what exactly is this entity, and its purpose within ourselves–these questions have presented a long-lived debate within the world of philosophy for years upon years. This renowned question has been “answered” through a plethora of perspectives, but still, there is no definite, final answer to what those have been trying to depict. My paper will break down Liriano’s argument–people do possess souls–alongside the evidence provided as support. The argument ultimately contains issues regarding the empirical evidence undermining his claim–I will depict the false claim that the brain can give insight into one’s consciousness, the basis of his perspective…

The mind, or ‘soul’ as it has come to be known to some, is classified as a ‘non-physical entity’ that is separate from the brain by Cartesian Dualists and linked to (but still different from) the brain by Property Dualists. These are perfectly reasonable ways to look at it as such concepts as qualia and privileged access and the fact that mental phenomena lack spatial features support these theories. While Materialists may doggedly reject Dualism, it can be noted that some of their arguments are by no means iron-clad, including their trump card, the ‘interaction problem’. Also, Materialistic arguments fail to address and explain our mental experiences taking…

In conclusion, I agree with the statement, because we can’t see the soul and there is no proof of its existence. Also, I think NDEs are just scientific phenomenon that we not yet know about, and DNA and electric impulses in our mind control our body, but not souls. Moreover, soul is more a religious idea than a scientific idea, and I think science is more reliable. Therefore, I don’t think we have a soul.…

“You’ll never be able to run long distances again” A quote from my doctor when I was first diagnosed with both a tarsal and calcaneal coalition in my left foot. The first thought that came to my head was start digging my grave now. Monday through Saturday for me are spent at the gym or on the tennis court. If I am not training, I am teaching the sport I continue to admire since fifth grade. Those nine words rang through my ears like fingernails on a chalk board. He proceeded to place me in a cast then a few weeks later into an air cast. I viewed this as a small bump in the road and continued to strengthen my upper body and core despite my highly fashionable boot. Two months later my highly optimistic self headed to my “final” doctor appointment to be told I need to continue to wear the air cast. That day I recall telling myself “deep breaths Grace”…

Time is winding down and the past thirty nine weeks has been nothing short but amazing. It has been full of different emotions and feelings. From the stretching of the skin to the sudden movement I have never felt before. It was all a new experience, but the feeling was indescribable. After a restless night, the sunrise appeared before I knew it. The pain was unbearable, but after several hours and a couple of good pushes you were here. I was extremely exhausted, but the relief was absolutely amazing. At first sight I fell in love with you. Not for how you look, just for who you are. I never thought I could feel affection like this. What is this? Is this how it's assume to feel or even resemble? It's kind of insane how you, only one individual,…

These are the necessities of every human being which have to be satisfied.
