Social Work Personal Statement
I would like to study Social Work because I feel it will lead me directly to one of the most emotionally fulfilling careers available, as well as giving me the chance to help people's families and people’s wellbeing. This course will give me the opportunity to study something that involves both academic and practical study, which I feel would suit me best. Studying an Access to Nursing course has given me a valuable insight into the health sector and the way the mind works. My experience and knowledge I have gained on the course has inspired me to apply for a Degree in Social Work. This will provide me with a better opportunity and in depth understanding of what being a social worker is. I have always wanted to be able to make a difference

This direct role has given me exposure to social work. I truly enjoy working with my colleagues in the children contact centre, they have helped me to develop excellent communication skills, appreciate people as individuals and to be patient and understanding. Working in a customer service environment demands good listening skills and an ability to be able to deal with pressure and to deal with people of all ages, nationalities and backgrounds. I have learnt to be able to answer enquiries efficiently and to share my knowledge and advice. Studying a unit in psychology really interested me and made me want to strive to take my interest out of the classroom and into the world of work. My Access to HE in Nursing has broadened my knowledge of the subjects that will help me in a Social Work
