Sloth's Travels: A Narrative Fiction
I’ve been traveling in my raft or so called boat. This boat was suppose to take me to Asia. How I ended up on this was still a mystery to me. I guess that I might have fainted since when I woke up, I was soaking wet in salt water. I started to walk around the peninsula to see if any animal lived there. I saw nothing, but when I looked in the coconut tree I saw a little sloth. The sloth started to move down the tree very slowly and it stopped for a moment and looked at me. The sloth look like a very unharmful creature, but I didn’t get near it because it was a wild creature. So I kept on walking to look for food and shelter. It was getting dark and I didn’t want to sleep without a shelter. I found a perfect place to spend the night, but

When I looked down I saw nothing but a small black and orange rubber dingy. I tried to think about what had happened. It was then when I realized I couldn't even remember my own name. Then panic just settled in for some reason I jumped in the water freaking out. I came to my senses and quickly started using all my strength to hurdle myself in the dingy.…

We kept on walking for the whole day until sundown through the flat valley, stopping every once and a while to rest. Then we saw a lake with many fish and mastodons in the distance. We threw our nets into the water, while some people watched the mammoths. We walked towards the mastodons after catching some fish. The mastodons started screaming and I thought ‘Did they see us?’…

Thank you for inquiring your data to our organization. We have completed an inventory of the biological diversity in Central America and interpreted the distribution of the Choloepus hoffmanni (two-toed sloth) and Bradypus variegatus (brown-throated three-toed sloths). The possible locations the sloths could be located are, agriculture (AG), low land old growth (LL OG), low land secondary forest (LL SF), mountainous old growth (MTN OG), mountainous secondary forest (MTN SF), and finally clear cut (CC). Our organization totals there to be a total 136 sloths to be in AG, 144 sloths in LL SF, and finally 75 sloths in LL OG. On the other hand, there are no sloths found in MTN OG, MTN SF, and CC. Given the data regarding the location of both the…

That night, I once again woke up from my fitful sleep and decided to walk it off, but when I came downstairs, feeling the touch of the wooden handrail, and the pair of survivors on watch didn't wave back to me, or even blink. I exited the house, and the wind whistled as the world froze, and — suddenly there was a glimpse of someone darting through the streets. They were a cat - they moved lithely and disappeared from sight for a few seconds, then reappeared…

Brown-throated sloths are astounding creatures even though they sleep for most of the day which is fifteen to twenty hours. They have a lot more features that makes them unique from other animals like the way their mouth is shaped. The Brown-throated sloths’ mouth appears as if the sloth is always smiling. In addition, the sloth is credited as being the world’s slowest animal and it is so dormant that algae grows on its body. Even though the mammal is so slow it still has the exclusive property of having an extra neck vertebrae which allows the sloths to rotate their head 270 degrees. Finally, the Brown-throated sloth are better in the water, swimming, than on land. This is mainly credited to their hands. Even though the Brown throated Sloth…

Subsequently, we see characters that represent a sloth all over the media. For example, we all know the cartoon Spongebob Squarepants. It may be a children’s cartoon, but many of the characters represent the seven deadly sins. Patrick, the big, pink starfish sleeps under a rock all day. When he is challenged by any remotely time consuming or straining task, the “gears” in his brain start to malfunction. His character is the epitome of what a sloth stands…

My grandfather and his older children including my father spent almost a year gathering supplies and building a raft for their Travel. When they completed their raft they gathered few belongings and a week’s supply of food and traveled through the ocean. The first day was the easiest because they had very high hopes and their dream of America was coming true. They didn’t even notice the heat nor the choppy water; to them it seemed like the last bump on the road to a better life. The second day passed just as fast as the first day, but the third day was very different. The third day of their, at best, 5 day journey they woke up and realize that their food, which was on a smaller raft tied to the back of the main raft, was no longer there. To this day they do not know how it happened, they just assume that the waves forced the knot loose and the food drifted away. This was around the time that they started to become fearful for what might happen. The fourth day was when they began to feel intense hunger and fear. On the fifth day they realized that their trip wouldn’t come to an end soon. They realized that the current had slowed them down by at least two more days. At this point, hungry and hopeless,…

It took me a little longer to get home considering I was still a little bit nauseous from the faint.I decided to take a break from the world (and thinking) to just go into the down under, and become nothing. It usually takes me a couple minutes to float off into my head, but today, I went there as soon as I was under my bed. I haven't been off in my own head for awhile (ever since I had met Freak), but it should’ve taken longer to get there. I was thinking that it must of been my stress of Freak and myself getting to…

Finally, my dad says “we are here,” I was very enthusiastic about getting out of the car and being able to go in water. While I was walking down towards the water, I saw about 400 different colors of swimming suits on people's bodies, shining when the sun hit them. People were having so much fun; I was able to tell by how much they were screaming of excitement. On the shiny red rocks there were girls soaking the sun into their pale white skin. Then, when I looked down in the blue fast moving water, I saw cheerful little kids going down the natural water chute, showing their pearly whites as their parent grabbed their camera.…
