Skittles Report
To begin my experimentation I will call or email the Wriggler Company to ask: how many skittles are put in each bag, which percentage of each color do they put in each bag, and if they have an opinion about the abnormal skittles. This information will be my control group. After that, I will gather bags of original skittles in different size capacities. I will label each bag with a letter; I will also label bowls so I will not get which skittles came from which bags confused. Once I have this ready, I will open the skittles. First, I will pour each bag of skittles into a bowl, then I will record which size the bag is how many skittles came out of the bag, if there are any abnormal skittles how many, and how much of each color are there. I will get a clipboard and make a chart; this chart will have a part to sign your consent for being part of my experimentation. Another part of the chart will contain an area to write your favorite color of skittle. I will take this chart around with me to multiple places. After this is complete and I am happy with the amount of data I have, I will count up how many people said each color and I will make a graph of this information. I will use a bar graph for this information; the x-axis will represent the colors, and the y-axis will represent the number of people who chose each color.
CONCLUSION
If the number of skittles in each bag is off by a few, my first hypothesis will be true. However, if there are many abnormally shaped skittles in each bag, my second hypothesis will be incorrect. Next, if all the bags of skittles have different percentages of skittles, my third hypothesis will be right. If the highest average percentage is yellow, then my fourth hypothesis will be accurate.
