Situate Yourself
Ever had your opinion shut down or told that it was wrong? If so then whoever told you that was wrong. Your outlook on things I believe comes from your personal beliefs and experiences. Everyone has their own philosophy and no one can be more right about one’s own philosophy than you.
Loyalty is something that I take very serious to an extreme level. Believing in the things I believe in has helped me chose the crowds I hang with or associate myself with. My faith doesn’t allow me to neglect anyone and I choose to simply not neglect. I associate with all people of all crowds no matter what, what matters is who I consider calling a “friend”. Being called a friend doesn’t have anything to do with their status or popularity but if I believe that they truly have my best interest. Someone that knows I’m loyal to them just like they are loyal to me. My mother was my ultimate friend and once said to me “Joe some people would buy a front row ticket just to watch you struggle”. I never understood that until a few years back after going through the line of betrayal I had faced from friends, even family. I mean to have family members look you into the eye and tell you they have your back or will come through for you on something and don’t, it hurts. I understand no one is perfect but when it becomes routine it allows you to become stronger, better and selective about whom you accept as a true friend. I have learned that everyone isn’t meant to be your friend and I’m okay with that, it’s taken some time, but I’ve grown and learned to accept it. It’s nothing I take personal, I just now strive to be a positive impact or have a positive role in every life I associate myself with. So even with knowing that some won’t be loyal, I still allow myself to forgive and move forward hoping they learn the what positivity can do to one’s life.

I would have to say that my religious and moral views go hand in hand with one another. Growing up, I was raised a

Is everyone entitled to his or her opinion, even though it might be wrong? Sometimes, what people might say may not make any sense at all. If you call them out on their personal opinions, they will say, “It is my opinion, and that's all that matters.” In Paul Kix’s article “Hip-Hop Is No Longer Cooler than Me,” he states his opinion about the fact that Hip-Hop has lost its value and coolness. In his view, Hip-Hop used to mean something. Nowadays people just rap about nonsense. Kix’s own personal view of hip-hop is his opinion, but other people might totally differently. However, in Joan Ryan’s article “We Are Not Created Equal in Every Way,” she like Kix are subjective. In this piece Ryan explains how everyone is created differently, and…

By definition, loyalty is faithfulness, devotion, or dedication to someone or something. Loyalty is one of the essential attributes a person must have and must demand of others. People often have conflicting loyalties, and there are no guidelines that help them to decide to what or whom they should be loyal. My personal beliefs have formed me over the course of my lifetime by many different influences. Many people have made important impact in my life that have changed my beliefs in society and my life. The major two values that help determine my worldview are God and Ethics they are the ways that help me shape my beliefs, and life decisions. I feel the strongest aspect of my worldview is my tremendous sense of spirituality and the relationship I have with God. All of these beliefs help me every day with my decisions. The moral values I have learned are from many different influences through my lifetime. Strong Catholic influences have been the good foundation to be closer to God. I have learned to live a life of compassion, service and teaching. Ethical choices that I have made in my life have not been the most popular but they are the ones I live with. One of my beliefs is that not all humans respond or act the same way. It all depends on their world view, background, morals, and personalities. My main goal in life is to help others ever since I was a child.…

The way a person believes is usually influenced by various different life factors, which is why no one ever agrees on everything. We all have our own aspect of life. The place where one begins to learn and pick up from is usually home with family. Although there are many things including, friends, books, media, income; and even race, gender, and ethnicity that contribute to why people believe differently. My own beliefs, I think have been influenced by family of course, but also by my own personal knowledge and experience; which is only gained by living.…

Another aspect of loyalty is transparency and openness. I think when you are open and transparent in your relationship it leaves no room for misunderstandings or for a third person to create any kind of trouble between us. Being open, honest and real with each other regarding our weaknesses gives us an opportunity to deal with it appropriately and share our feelings and emotions which in turn strengthen our…

This brings up the concepts of personal knowledge and shared knowledge. Personal knowledge depends on the experiences of a particular individual because everyone is living life differently. On the other hand, shared knowledge is the product of more than one individual as it binds different ideas together. Shared knowledge is pretty much a collection of personal knowledge. For example, my personal knowledge is that Taylor Swift is the best singer of all time, but a shared knowledge would be Taylor Swift is a singer. Knowing this, the knowledge becomes the truth; however, it all depends on the individual. The individual must make the choice to believe in it or not. People cannot force others to believe in what they believe is true. Or can they?…

I have also acquired knowledge about others personal attitude. I have learned that there are many different Philosophies one can have, and that one should not prejudge on that Philosophy. I have learned that in most people’s minds they are right. There are many different perspectives that one could take on the same topic. One instance is many women believe that it is not moral to have sex on a first date. I on the other hand as do many men do not believe that it is immoral to have sex on the first date. Is either of us wrong? No, we both just have different perspectives on the subject, and neither of us should be too quick to judge the other on their perspective. We all grew up in different areas with different friends and role models. These role…
