Should Teenagers Be Given Right to Make Decision on There Own?
Should teenager be given right to make decision on their own? Well according to me they shouldn’t be given this right and I would like to prove my point first scientifically by the quotation of a neurologist that “The brain is mostly developing during the teenager’s years i.e. until we reach the age of 20.
Since this period is crucial as the brain is easy to manipulate it is important for parents to instill proper social norms into their minds to help their children to fit into the world.
Now you may ask this question that why parents should guide us as though parents have lived a longer year doesn’t entitle them to tell how to behave?
My answer will be that “even with the parents not being perfect they have something that teenagers do not posses i.e. wisdom.
This wisdom that parents posses is valuable for teenagers still growing so that the teenagers still growing so that the teenagers do not have to suffer what the parents already have which is a big part of parenting.
Now I shall bring up some more practical points to favor my point.
Current law indicates that a teenager’s actions are the responsibility of the parent.
It is a variation of the notion that children must “fly from the nest”. In order for this flight to be a successful one, parents must guide their children in decision making. Without proper guidance child is in risk of being committing wrong deeds which can put them in jail.
What teenagers should have and know?
They should have some positive role model in their life.
They should be aware of the consequences of crime and for all this they need parents to show them correct path and most importantly “real world”
At the last I would like to say a teenager is just at the threshold of maturity and there is no reason why he/she should not be given ample scope for taking an important decision.
But, at the same time, this late adolescence is a complex and fast changing state of transition when a small mistake may result in very serious
