School uniforms can have a positive and negative effect on students and parents. Many schools world wide debate about wether or not students should be required to wear uniforms. The debate has been equally divided between parents, students, and faculty who feel that schools should or should not be required to wear uniforms. Students should be required to wear uniforms so that the schools bullying rate can decrease and also so that the crime decreases and the safety of the school increases. A reason why some may oppose to students wearing uniforms might be because they feel students should be able to express themselves. If public school students are required to wear uniforms, the bullying rate at the school will decrease. Students are bullied in school because some may wear name brand clothing while others may wear clothing …show more content…
If students are limited to what they can wear, it may cause students to feel like they can not express themselves. High school is a time where students should find themselves and their personalities. All students in high school are different, some may want to dress preppy or gothic. Students may want to wear unique clothing like ripped jeans, sweatpants, or crop tops. Students having the option to wear what they want gives them creativity instead of making them feel like they are in prison. Uniforms in school is a debate that can last for a long time. Everyone has different views on different topics. Some may debate that schools should require uniforms and others may debate that they should not. School uniforms will decrease bullying and violence at the school, it would also enhance the safety at the school.
