Should Dogs Be Allowed In Public Places
I think only dogs and small horses should be allowed in public places. Because Other animals could carry a disease and pass it on to another human. I also think why only dogs and small horses should be let in public places is, dogs and small horses can be more helpful than other service animals such as a snake, ferret, bird

One reason why only dogs and small horses is they could pass diseases from person to person. For example the article New Service Animal Rules quotes “they might pass illnesses to humans. In addition, some animals are not trained to keep an area clean. For example, birds could leave droppings on a store floor. This creates an unhealthy setting for others.” If an animal leaves droppings on the floor they could be carrying a deadly disease. Dogs and small horses can be potty trained and decreases the chance of a deadly disease of spreading.

The article Animals Helping People states “Seeing Eye dogs are trained to be the eyes for people who cannot see. All over the world, Seeing Eye dogs are hard at work—guiding, protecting, and loving their blind masters.” This means that service dogs are helpful, I don’t think you would see a parrot guiding, protecting, and loving their blind master. Another example why only dogs and small horses should only be allowed in public places is the artical Animals Helping People states “Even riders who cannot see, or who have trouble moving their muscles, can have fun on a quiet, gentle, well-trained horse.” This means that riding a horse can be relaxing and your other pair of

Having a dog park in a residential area, for the most part, would be very convienient. Some animals owners don't have the yard space for them to run around and to get the excercise they need. There are common misconceptions and misunderstandings about assistance dogs due to the lack of awareness about the subject. Service dogs are protected under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). Owners and handlers of these dogs are allowed to have their dog accompany them in public places that would otherwise ban dogs from entrance. However, therapy dogs are not protected under (ADA) and do not have special permission into public places. This is because they do not provide direct assistance to a disability for the owner or handler. Questions may arise about whether or not people are being honest about their pet being a service dog. However, one is not allowed to question the handler about their disability or ask them to have their dog…

There is no question that dog-bites and related injuries are a problem in many areas of the country. Statistics indicate that every year in the United States, approximately 4.7 million people suffer dog bites, of which, 800,000 seek medical attention, 386,000 require emergency medical treatment, and 12 result in death (Weise, 2005). In addition, according to the Center for Disease Control, reports of people being attacked by vicious dogs is on the rise (One Bite and Fido’s Out, 2006). Pressure from the private sector and the media pushed legislators to make hasty decisions. Proposed breed specific bans and restrictions were made by law makers in frenzied attempts to protect the public from…

I believe that animals are very similar to we humans, they feel and have emotions, thus they shouldn’t be mistreated or abused, rather be treated with love and respect. It was on this belief that the ASPCA was founded in 1866. The first anti-cruelty law was passed after their founding. “…..I have developed a deep respect for animals. I consider them fellow living creatures with certain rights that should not be violated any more than those of humans.” (Stewart)…

However, in this day and age these animals help us more than ever. Whether an animal is there to comfort, serve, and help people, but lately have seemed to have forgotten that you cannot use every animal for these purposes. There's nothing wrong with having an alternative animal as a service animal however everyone should know that there's specific type of animals that should be used. Yet, what many have failed to realize is that these alternative animal are endangering lives. Due to these non-traditional animals the American with Disabilities Act (ADA) and state laws are having conflicts about the use of alternative service animals. Which are causing court cases to drag out for unneeded…

Service dogs are individually trained for a specific purpose. Many people that have a disability use service dogs. Disabled people that require them would not be able to be a part of mainstream America without them. Congress has felt the need to create laws regarding service dogs. Having a service dog can help many people. My service dog is useful in assisting me to keep my balance and mobility. Some dogs are needed for the blind in order to be their eyes, some detect seizures and some alert to allergies. Service dog laws exist, unfortunately law enforcement, business owners and the public are not always aware of the laws for service dogs. As a disabled individual, I am allowed to enter a business…

One reason I believe this law is fair is because of illnesses and diseases some animals carry. For example, the text New Service Animal Rules by Clare Mishica states that “The changes were needed to protect people from diseases. Different animals carry certain diseases. When animals go into public places, they might pass illnesses to humans.” However, if we only have animals that have no diseases, everyone will be safe.…

A new law says that only dogs are allowed to help people in public places. I feel that the law is not necessary. Other animals should be allowed to go in public places too especially if they are a service animal. Monkeys work really hard at a place in Boston called “Helping Hands” so they can help people in need. Also other animals have other talents that dogs do not have. So if a person would like something to drink a dog can pour their owner something to drink.…

A person who is just an owner of a dog should not be allowed to bring a dog into the workplace simply for the fact that a dog cannot be dependable or trustworthy of their actions. An employee may be uncomfortable when a dog comes into the workplace and start sniffing around them. The employee do not know what the dog will do if the employee becomes afraid of it. My first reason pets should not be allowed in classrooms is that they can be dangerous. According to the world society for the protection of animals says that if a classroom pet dies “it's not that bad for the animals but is devastating to the students.” A classroom pet also supports breeders and the cruel pet trade. Many small animals used as class “pets” come from awful breeding facilities where they’re kept in horrific and filthy conditions, poor and non-proper veterinary care, and left can be vulnerable to abuse. Breeders also directly contribute to the severe overpopulation crisis and destroy shelter animals chances of finding good homes. Keeping animals in a classroom can danger a student's. There has been reports lately of salmonella, caused by having reptiles as “pets.” Pets should not be allowed in classrooms because it bad for the students.…
