Shortcuts In To Kill A Mockingbird
Finally Understood / Revelation

I clearly remember my Algebra teacher, Mr. Craig Lipscomb. He treated every student with respect. He expected his students to follow his instruction, lest they get it wrong. I also clearly remember taking shortcuts which invariably led to incorrect answers. He would gently lead me back to his instruction and methods, which invariably led to the correct answers: Imagine that! After a few weeks, I finally understood that Mr. Lipscomb was leading me in the right direction. All I had to do was listen, follow his instructions, and do my homework.

This week’s sermon was “Finally Understood.” Many of us can look back at events in life, and finally understand that in some of them, we found a purpose and a value.

Not only did Mrs. Biszewski prepare us academically, but she helped us practice good Christian values. In addition, she was accessible for all students, treating everyone with fairness.…

I have been through many ups and downs in my life. After a traumatic experience a few years ago, I’ve felt very trapped in my troughs with the scarce, brief relief of peaks.…

This mission reminds us that for the Kingdom of God to continue to break in, individual lives need to be changed, while being motivated and equipped for transformation. Our Book of Discipline offers this cue: “God has used our church to save persons, heal relationships, transform social structures, and spread scriptural holiness, thereby changing the world.” When we change lives and introduce people to the all-loving nature of God, we indeed transform the world. When making disciples, the Church welcomes people into community, educates them on God’s call for Christians, and equips them toward using their spiritual gifts to serve as change agents playing a role in bringing about the Kingdom of…

In my last 15 years of school I’ve had many good teachers as well as bad teachers, but none of them compare to my football coach/computer teacher Mr. Pasch. Mr. Pasch not only taught me a lot about computers and football, but also much more about life. Mr. Pasch taught me that quitters never win, that when you quit the first time it will be easier to quit again and for the rest of your life you will always quit when it gets hard. Mr. Pasch installed in me his discipline, respect and motivation.…

    Theology of Missions

The Bible chronicles mans fall from what God created him to be, and God’s desire to restore a sinful man unto Himself through missions. Even though man was originally made perfectly in the image of God, man would eventually succumb to his free will and his own selfish desires. Once man allowed evil into his heart, fellowship with God was broken, along with His heart. Through His sovereign grace and mercy, God seeks to restore order to His earthly kingdom. We find God’s plan and outline in the pages of His word as He makes a way for man to be redeemed from the chains of sin. The awesomeness of the situation is that God allows us to be part of the mission to reach out and share the Gospel to a lost and dying world. Ultimately, the mission of God finds its fulfillment in man’s worship and service to God in His kingdom.…
