Shane
There are many similarities between the scenes in the book and movie Shane. Joey Starrett is the first person to see Shane ride into the community. His profession was a gunfighter, Shane tries to renounce his former trade and join the community of homesteaders. Some of the things that were the same in the book and in the movie were that Shane was a very polite and kind person. Also, Shane and Joe had to work together to remove the stump from the ground, which symbolized their friendship and the fact that they could do anything if they worked together. Shane also worked on the Starrett’s farm to repay their kindness and hospitality.
Joe Starrett and Shane become friends as Shane helps Joe. Shane works with Joe to remove an old tree stump he had been fighting to remove. The homesteaders are held together by Joe Starrett, who wants to build a life on the land for his wife Marian and young son Joey. Luke Fletcher is a greedy land owner who wants to own the whole town. The ranchers, led by the Ryker brothers, try to intimidate the homesteaders in an effort to force them out of the valley. As tensions increase Luke Fletcher hires a gunfighter named Stark Wilson. Joe Starrett is left with no alternative but to meet the hired gunfighter. It is obvious that Shane is the only match for the hired gunfighter, Wilson. He overpowers Starrett and rides into town where he kills the gunman and the Rykers. There are many contrast between the scenes in both the book and the movie.
One thing that is different is that in the book when Shane first rides into the Starrett’s ranch, he is wearing all black; but in

The plot of the movie was basically a love story, where the plot of the story was basically Zaroff's love for hunting. I think the the movie being a love story changed the whole purpose of the story or the plot because the movie really wasn’t about the killing it was the two of them…

The second comparable scene is when the Socs and Greasers line up to fight each other. They are smack-talking back and forth with each other. Two similarities between the book and the movie could be the sound of the greasers and socs talking back and forth, and it both showed or described how the greasers and socs were lining up. Two differences between the book and the movie could be instead of Paul swinging at Darry, some random Soc swung at Ponyboy, and the empty lot looked different than what I had imagined when the book described it.The book was more effective during this scene because It gave more detail about how the lot looked like and it described the feeling better than the movie…

When Gene and Finny go to the tree one of the times Gene slips and Finny saves him. This happens only in the movie. The book did not say anything about a rope being on the tree. In the movie when Gene shakes the limb of the tree causing Finny to fall, there was no one at the tree. In the book Leper and Brinker were standing there. The movie also started in a flashback to the trial, whereas in the book it started off as him being in his current time. The book was told in first person and the movie was narrated in third person. I felt the book brought you closer to what Gene was thinking. Another difference would be Gene going and talking to Leper. In the book Leper goes home and in the movie he goes to the woods of…

“Dear Zachary: A Letter to Son about His Father” is a terrific documentary about an old couple, David and Kate Bagby, who faced many challenges and dealt very well with them. The couple’s son, Andrew Bagby is murdered by his psychopathic ex-girlfriend, Shirley Turner. Shortly after Andrew’s death, Shirley announced her pregnancy. After hearing this news, the filmmaker Kurt Kuenne, Bagbys’s good friend creates a documentary to serve as both a memorial to Bagby and an introduction to the father the child would never know. Imagine if you ever had to see your son’s killer: what would you do? Would you be wise as David and Kate Bagby? Would you let grandchild’s custody be given to the murderer of your son? And the most important question is why didn’t the authorities do something? I know I wouldn’t be as wise as David and Kate and drive hours to see my grandchild at my son’s murderer’s house. If I were to physically harm that person, I would and I still wouldn’t be able to do what David and Kate did.…

Another difference between the movie and the book are the animals that attacked Brian while he was in the wilderness. In the movie the bear attacked Brian and destroyed his shelter and he wrestled and injured the bear. Also in the movie Brian got attacked by a raccoon. While in the book Brian sees the bear but doesn’t have any physical contact with her. In the book Brian got attacked by a moose and a skunk. In this event I discovered some differences but also some similarities like the wolf, porcupine and the mosquitoes attack.…
