The final difference that i’ll talk about is the bird attacks. Between the book and the film, there were attacks in the movie that didn’t happen in the book, and the same for the other way around. In the movie, the first attack with multiple birds was at Mitch’s sister’s birthday party, which didn’t exist in the book. While in the movie, the first attack was in Nat’s childrens bedroom. Also, in the book, Nat was attacked for an entire night, and he was by himself. That also didn’t happen in the book. In the movie, Mitch’s ex girlfriend was murdered by the birds, and in the book, Nat’s ex was never…

One of the most significant differences between the short story and the movie is the developing of Charlie's character in the story. In the book for example, is nothing said about his family, whereas in the movie is told a lot about his childhood and in the end he also sees his mother. When we see Charlie in the movie identifying himself as lonely, he becomes a more described character than he is in the book. This shows the difference that in a short story we have to develop a character ourselves, but in a movie only throughout one picture of a person we already get a description of this character we would never have got in a short story. In the movie we have seen the information about Charlie we immediately get it supported by information about his family.…

In addition to the book being written differently than the movie, there are many things that were left out of the movie that were in the book. One thing that was in the book but not the movie was when Charlie caught his sister Candace and her boyfriend, Ponytail Derek sleeping together. In the movie they also leave the part out when Charlie drives Candace to get an abortion. Charlie, Sam and Patrick also smoke cigarettes in the book, but they don’t in the movie. One big thing that Charlie did a lot of in the book, but almost none of in the movie was cry. In the book, Charlie cries after he and Sean get in a fight, when Sam kisses him, when he breaks up the fight between Patrick and Brad, and after the dare where…

Another important event I realized was different, was the fact that when Simon, Ralph and Jack, in the book, go looking for the beast, it is dark, which can explain why Ralph cannot see that the “beast” is actually a man whereas in the film this important event happens in broad daylight which is not very credible from a spectator’s point of view.…

In the movie flowers for Algernon there are differences like Charlie and Miss Kinnian fall in love. “In the movie Charlie loved Miss Kinnian he told her that but, he couldn’t stay with her because he would soon forget how he felt so he had to go.” This is very weird because if he loved her he would stay with her. But,it makes sense because he would just soon forget. Also in the movie Charlie beat Algernon 1 time and in the book he beat him 8 times. This happened probably to make the movie shorter, but it still should of happened.…
