how does hair conditioner works? 1. As most of us are aware, conditioners are meant to moisturise hair from the roots to the tip. They are made up of different types of softening and moisturising ingredients that make hair shinier, softer and glossier. Primary ingredients include surfactants, moisturisers, glossers, detanglers, thermal protectors, lubricants and essential fatty oils. 2. The ingredients such as fatty oils and moisturisers lend a coating of humectants to the hair to lock the moisture in thereby, preventing the strands from drying out. They also attempt to keep the hair soft and healthy amidst extreme pollution and adverse weather conditions. 3. The detanglers and glossers present in the hair conditioner coat the hair with silicone polymers for reflecting light and providing the hair with a shiny appearance. 4. Conditioners also contain thermal protectors. Therefore, they help in protecting the hair from damages that are associated with curling irons and blow drying. Most often, stylists advise people to apply a layer of conditioner before resorting to blow drying or curling to minimise the damage. 5. Conditioners have a distinct role to play with respect to the type of hair it is used for. For example, conditioners that add volume are used on thin and limp hair to make them appear fuller; deep and smoothening conditioners are used on coarse dry hair to soften it and make it appear manageable. Therefore, the process by which a hair conditioner works depends on the type of conditioner you choose for your specific hair

Humectants in hair products can significantly impact the way our hair behaves during weather changes. Humidity draws in moisture from the air. Depending on the type of hair you have, the high moisture in humid air can either create limp, weighed down hair, or frizzy, unruly locks. Conversely, humectants can provide just the moisture you need in dry climates. Ultimately, you may find it necessary to switch out your products…

There is more to hair than what meets the eye. When people look at different types of hair they tend to only see curly, kinky or straight. They lack the knowledge that it is the chemical bonds in our hair that give us our hair type. The curlier or kinkier a person’s hair is the more chemical bonds they have. If someone has straight hair and desires curly hair, then more chemical bonds would have to be created. Not only do genetics make our hair types but chemistry plays a predominate role as well.…

Use the shampoo and the conditioner for your hair in sections. Curly hair is oftentimes very dense and not easily manageable. This makes it difficult for you to reach all the parts of the hair when washing it. In case you have specifically thick or curly hair, make sure you are washing and condition it one section at a time. The size of the section depends on how dense your hair is. Logically the denser it is, the smaller the section should be. Use a shampoo for curly hair. Others take the natural oil of your hair…
