Leadership opportunities are given and expected of all its members. Anyone with the drive and personal fortitude can excel and are given the chance in many ways. Leadership development schools, such as WLC (Warrior Leadership Course) and BNOC (Basic Noncommissioned Officer Course) are some of the ways the Nation Guard provides its soldiers with the means to develop themselves as future leaders. These courses show each just what kind of solider or leader they can be. In example, Jumping at 3,000 feet and carrying a 60 pound packs, the Guarding Angel team of Maddama and Tech Sargent Dan Warren, a member of the 308th Rescue Squadron from Patrick Air Force Base, Fla., leapt into 15 degree below zero tempetures blowing winds, and inclement weather (Hayes, 2012).
