Seventh Grade Essay
Seventh grade was just one short year ago, and yet it has already had an enormous impact on my life. In the beginning of seventh grade I set a goal, to receive distinguished honors. This would be difficult, because seventh grade was challenging due to all of the sports I was involved in and the multiple tests and quizzes. My parents aided a great deal by being encouraging and helpful with all of the school work I had and sports I was engaged in. Throughout the year I knew I needed to be hopeful and optimistic that I would achieve my goal. As the first day of school came around my nerves were heightened, I was worried about the challenges I would encounter but I was determined to reach my goal. Soon after the first day of school, I realize that seventh grade was not going to be a breeze ,but it was manageable. My teachers were bombarding me with tests and quizzes, and I was not used to working at that speed. The first marking period came to an end and I earned distinguished honors for that marking period. That winter I tried out for school and travel basketball ,and I made both teams. My indoor lacrosse practice started for my summer travel league on Tuesdays at seven. During the week I would go to …show more content…
My life will forever be altered due to the work ethic I developed throughout this entire process. Furthermore, I learned how to manage my time wisely due to all of the sports I was committed to, and I became more independent. I learned that I could anything if I set my mind to it and work vigorously. One of the most recent impacts of this is when I qualified to apply to the National Junior Honor Society. Eighth grade has already been challenging, but the skills I developed during seventh grade has made the transition from seventh to eighth grade painless. All of this has shaped me to be the person I am today, and I will carry these skills with me throughout my entire

Education has always been one of the most important things to me, and I am dedicated to learn as much as humanly possible. Throughout my high school career I have challenged myself by completing six advanced placement classes and taking other honors classes. I have taken these classes as a way to help guide myself for what is to come in the future in college. I was inducted into the National Honors Society during my junior year of high school, and I graduated with honors. Both of these successes are the two greatest accomplishments of my high school career. These two achievements prove how dedicated I was, and still am, to getting the best education I could. My quality of dedication will stick with me throughout my future endeavors.…

Throughout high school, my life has been consumed by sports. Being a student athlete has made me become the person I am today. Ever since I was sixteen, I have also worked at a daycare in town, TASK. This has showed me how much little kids look up to student athletes. Working at TASK has also showed me how much these little kids want to grow up and be like us student athletes. Without sports and working at the daycare, I would not be the role model I am today. Since working at the daycare, I have realized I want to be the person little girls are talking about when they say, “I want to grow up and be just like her.” Being chosen team captain has made me into the leader I am. I have learned how to push my teammates…

The transitioning summer from grade 7 to grade 8 was an exceedingly challenging, demanding and painful one. During this particular summer, my mother was going through a divorce with my step-dad, Michael, and her everyday attitude and mental stability was greatly affected. Every night I spent with her that summer, consisted of tears, personal problems and having to hand-feed her anxiety pills on an almost hourly basis. I can say, without even the slightest doubt, this was the worst summer, if not the worst period of time in my entire life and had a harsh negative impact on my…

It was winter season and that meant basketball. This year was special because I got to play for Davidson Day’s seventh and eight-grade team. See at our school the middles school ran through 5th to 8th. The middle school basketball teams were divided into a 5th-6th-grade team and a 7th 8th grade team. This season was different; we would play more games and different teams. Also we got a new coach and older teammates. Tryouts were rough; the older kids were picking on the 7th graders constantly. I was the only one they liked because I was good. The season got even worse. The 7th graders never played in the games and sometimes in the locker room older kids would yell at us for messing up. This was horrible to watch and be apart of.…

I think that I owe most of my improvement the BRHS Marching Band. Being a part of an activity that demands you to be the best you can and then some made me feel like I was not a new student. Marching Band taught me a lesson that most people learn when they get to college, time management. “If you are on time, you are late, if you are early you are on time, and if you are late, get ready to run laps.” I have this posted on my bedroom door to remind me that time management is a key life lesson. Balancing the demanding schedule of band and school taught me to not procrastinate. It has also showed me that when you work at something really hard, there is not one thing that can stand in your way when you reach to grab it. I still remember the moment I heard the announcer say the name of our school at the state competition. I can’t describe the excitement I had when I heard that we beat…

Only being in the 11th grade, there are not any groundbreaking achievements I have made so far. One accomplishment that still stands out to me is when I was the only freshman to be interviewed and picked to be Bio-Med officer. This still holds a special place because it was defeinly one of my proudest moments. I am not the smartest person, or the best. I make mistakes, but I always try my hardest and put passion into everything I do. I was competing against 25 other freshman, and I was able to be the only 9th grader picked. My comeption wad tough, and some of the most intelligent people were also competing for this position. This definetlyl made me realize that being the smartest person is not everything. I had passion, and I truly cared about…

It is amazing to me to see how much I have accomplished since second grade. I feel as if the little girl who walked throughout the halls of Spanish Immersion, the girl who had little faith in herself to succeed, had changed into a mature, hard working young lady. In second grade I was partly depressed. I had felt as if life had no meaning. I struggled in school, and did not appreciate what was being taught. My mom suggested that I may have had dyslexia, but we were not certain that was the reason. It turns out, she was correct.…

In middle school I remember being told that I will be receiving an award at our ceremony so I had to show up to the ceremony. I did show up and I remember being told to sit down in the front row. I did not think anything of it and was just there to be there. Then I heard them describe an award meant for the top student in that grade level and then they mentioned my name. I was so excited and so proud to show this to my mom and make her proud of what I have earned. It says alot about how much hard work I put in to school and sometimes I do not even realize it. It tells people that school is a priority in my life and it will continue to be one for my future education. This is what started it all for me, it showed me that I should strive for the…

There have been many events throughout my life that have shaped and defined the person I am today. The most impactful moment of my life transpired when I was pursing my B.S. in Physics & Mathematics at Morehouse College in Atlanta, Georgia. Like any college year each year presents its onset of obstacles and challenges to overcome. My third year of undergrad was without question the most odious of my four year matriculation. Between four hour labs and courses such as Quantum I, Thermodynamics and Electromagnetic Theory it can be very difficult to maintain a high level of performance academically. This period of my life truly tested my belief in the power of the human spirit to preserve through all hardships and success. The journey I embarked on during that semester was like a transformation, where pressure was applied constantly to test my resolve.…
