From past experiences I have learned the real meaning of respect. This word is more powerful than one can imagine. With respect comes unselfishness. When people respect others, they are treated equally. My mother and father always told me to be tactful in the way I treated others, so I would also be respected. It has worked in the past and will always hold true in the future. If someone respects another with proper judgment, people feel good inside which gives them a sense of integrity. When I give respect and witness how it makes others feel, I feel like more of a person. I feel proud. Honored.…

A great example of treating people with respect is bullying. Bullying happens all the time at all times of the day. People bully people in school, on the internet, and even at home. Sometimes the bully has the motive to hurt people and break someone else down because they are hurting on the inside themselves. The way they express themselves is the wrong way to do it, but it happens. I remember in school, they always said that a bully becomes a bully when they, themselves had been bullied. It is a serious matter these days because people hurt themselves for being bullied. That goes back to my point where I said that it could impact someone life.…

You have to respect yourself before you can respect anyone else. As a student here at Royal High School I have seen many students that are very disrespectful to adults; they do not understand the meaning of character, if they did, they would do things differently. If one of my friends ever got out of line with an adult, I would tell them that their behavior is unacceptable, if I allowed my friend to act that way and I did not say anything, then I would be upholding them in their…

In my opinion respect is a feeling of regards for a person; it can extend to place, or a religion. When it comes to respect it is a two way street in order to receive respect, one must also give respect, and therefore one cannot exist without the other. In my world respect is something that is given lightly you have to put in the work to earn it. One might thing that they holding a position of power that he or she deserve respect, but that is not the case one may show the proper courtesy to the that they may hold but the respect for individual in the position will have to earn the respect of his subordinates.…

Respect; a topic people tend to have many different opinions on in terms of its definition. Some people live with the Idea that, respect is as respect does. Why can’t respect be given by everyone from the beginning? In sports it is a motive to gain the respect of one’s opponent but in real life, people often live by that same motto. Is this wrong?
