There are many things that an American student must do to contribute to American culture. American culture today is a melting pot of the best and worst parts of every other culture. In order to have the culture be the best it can be the young in American society must have good values. Though society helps shape the values found in American culture, three values remain constant for the young American: a person must be a good listener, have respect, and be a hard worker. Respect is one of the many values of a young American student because respect aids with communication, understanding and relations. Respect aids with communication because if A student respects someone they are much more likely to listen to them. Respect aids with understanding
