Self-Evaluation
For this self-evaluation I will be focusing on what I have accomplished this first half of the semester. I will look at my reflective reading journal, course engagement, and reflective writing. I will examine how I have done so far and any areas of improvement that I could work on. I will first look back on the reflective reading journals and look at the progress I have made on those. So far I have gotten ahead of schedule and have started working on the journal for the week of March 12th. In the past I have done very well on the journals and have found some great quotes that will be useful for when I am writing my final paper. In the future I think that I will try to really connect the quotes with experiences. So far I have written in my comments on my thoughts and sometimes mentioning how it could affect me but I don’t seem to link the quotes to certain experiences. By doing this I will be able to really enhance my journals and make connections easier in the …show more content…
My group is really open about hearing different ideas from everybody, which is great considering no idea is a bad idea. I do complete the passports and really consider each section and what I want to say. Within class I have been fortunate enough with my softball schedule to have only missed one class. My group caught me up on everything that I missed and even called me during class in order to ask me questions that needed answers. My softball schedule had me concerned because it seemed like I would have missed a lot of class but so far it seems that I won’t be missing very much of class at all. I am still trying to make sure I am prepared for class and have been texting and emailing my group and seeing what I can do. In the future I just need to keep my communication with my group and I just need to communicate with Dr. Taylor like I have been. Emailing him and keeping him up to date with everything that is happening with my schedule and any questions that I

As Christina Baldwin said: “ Journal writing is a voyage to the interior”. These journals not only symbolize my opinions about certain topics such as religion, gun control... but also represents me in every word and sentence written. I never thought that writing journals could arise so many emotions inside me while being so fun. Even though I wrote journals in GS100, the topics of this semester were more interesting. It developed my interest since we started writing the first journal. During this period, I realized that this experience not only made me grow up as a person but also as a writer.…

Women are known to be great fans of shoes. At last count, Philippine Politician Imelda Marcos had over 2,500 pairs of shoes. Although Mrs. Marcos’ love for shoes is extreme, it is a very good example of how women love their shoes. Since most women have about one percent of the money Mrs. Marcos’ has, they must deal with enjoying their measly fifteen or twenty pair of shoes. One desire a woman of Imelda’s wealth and most other women share is quality. Some shoes are bought at big name stores like Dillard’s, Macy’s or Shoe Warehouse but some women have found that the Payless Shoe Store shoes have lasted just as the long. Over the years, the pumps, boots and sneakers purchased from Payless Shoes has made women just as happy as the major retail stores.…

I have always found it interesting how everyone can have a different learning style. It does not mean that one person is smarter than the other, and vice versa. Everyone is completely different with how they intake information and their learning skills. My best learning skill is Kinesthetic I am more a “hands on” learner. I have always been more successful and learned better once I actually did something hands on. I can learn verbally, and visual as well but that is my best learning technique.…

The first part of self assessing me was pretty important because it was a sum of my whole lifestyle in one. Giving me an overall look on what I should change or if I should even change any of my habits. My smoking score was a perfect 10, which was not surprising at all to me. My alcohol/drug score for this was seven points because I do drink. The score for my eating and exercising habits were perfect because I do a good job when it comes to eating right and working out on a daily. My stress control score was an eight, but I do understand why. I do know that I stress to some extent. My last score was safety and the score for that was a nine. I think my life is pretty amazing if you ask me.…

Each of the self-assessments were an eye opener to me and to what my life has been like since the first-time primary socialization has taken place. The results for my analysis were more focused on groups. Most of the words that I wrote down put me into groups with other people, such as, nursing student or bibliophile. The results for the second analysis were that I am in the normal range for self-esteem. The next analysis that I did told me that I believe we are all in control of our own fate. To me, this means that the actions I take determine how my life will play out and that the term luck is used by people who are too afraid to take control or do anything with their life. The fourth analysis showed me that in some situations my behavior…

The difficulty with most timed writings is that most people feel they don't have the time to get their thoughts in order. In a short period of time one has to develop an outline, and a thesis, or main idea before the writing begins. If the essay is to be productive, one needs to have some idea where one is heading with the essay. Although it may only take a few minutes to organize your thoughts, you still have to remember the clock is ticking. Timed writings are going to continue to be a part of my academic reality, so learning to deal with them comfortably is important. This self-evaluation portfolio introduces my timed essays and different writing styles. In PE1 there were several questions that needed to be addressed, but overall the essay evaluated why dishonesty and fraud are serious problems within the scientific and medical communities? In PE2 I had to evaluate a statement in regards to scientific discovery. There are several reasons why both essays needed self-evaluation, and one reason was to look at my areas of strength.…
