I have always found it interesting how everyone can have a different learning style. It does not mean that one person is smarter than the other, and vice versa. Everyone is completely different with how they intake information and their learning skills. My best learning skill is Kinesthetic I am more a “hands on” learner. I have always been more successful and learned better once I actually did something hands on. I can learn verbally, and visual as well but that is my best learning technique. As mentioned above my dominant learning style is Kinesthetic of course. I plan to take this learning style to help with my online courses, by making study lessons each week. Every week when I am reading over material, I always make note cards with important key factors of what I read during that week. At the end of the week I review over all my material that I read for a refresher. I think the strengths I have with my learning style is that I retain information very easy. The information that I learn and receive will always stick and remain with me; I have great memory with the kinesthetic learning style. My personality type is very outgoing and optimistic. I am always eager to learn new things and experiment when it comes to different learning techniques. I know that with over the course of years when going to school it has helped me become successful in my courses. The strength of my personality is great because I will not stop going over a lesson until I grasp the full concept. If there is something that I am not understanding I will keep trying until I full understand the course work that needs to be done. I am eager to grow more with my learning style and techniques. I am willing to learn how to take in my information verbally, although sometimes I can get bored with just listening to constant lectures. I will have to remain focused and try to think the lesson that is being taught verbally is interesting to not lose focus. Visually my learning technique is overall pretty good I can retain information by looking at things visually as well, but not as great as kinesthetic technique. I know the technique kinesthetic will always be my main learning style technique, but I am going to work on my skills with advancing verbally and visual as well.

My personal learning style is doing. I learn best from the hands on approach of getting in to a topic or job and attempting to complete it on my own. This allows me to see my mistakes and not have them be prevented before they happen, which allows me to note the problem and fix it. I find it much harder to learn using concrete experience and reflective observation. The fact that both these styles are much harder for me to learn from effects my overall learning style because of how I learn, just watching someone else complete a task is not enough for me to learn by.…

After taking the VARK learning styles questionnaire, I was defined as a kinesthetic learner. Kinesthetic learners take in information best by practicing using the information. This often involves physical activity, which is why most athletes are kinesthetic learners. I feel that the learning style assessment accurately described the way that I learn best. I do not gain much from just sitting in a lecture, but from actively engaging in the course material. Therefore, it is a valid claim that I am a kinesthetic learner.…

Based on the definition in the textbook of the varies of learning styles I fall in the category of kinesthetic learner. Kinesthetic learners, formulate about 20 percent of the population, to become able to concentrate learners need to become able to participate to have greater success in the project. Accordingly, to Cardon kinesthetic learners they need group activities, hands-on activities, or breaks at least every 20 minutes. Conversely, kinesthetic learners do not always have the opportunity to have utilized their learning style; therefore, several of the kinesthetic learners must adapt to one of the other methods of learning.…

There are many ways that people learn and the way they learn depends on that particular person and what they prefer. The myth of learning styles article states there is no credible evidence of learning styles. In my opinion how a person retains the material he or she is learning does consist of a learning style. I prefer to learn by doing things hands on. I have always been that way. In high school I used to study right before going to bed to remember the material for my test the next morning. Now I choose to write out the things I need to remember and take notes that I can understand. According to the lesson readings I am put into the category of a combination of a visual and kinesthetic learner. I believe the readings are right because I have always had theese set ways of learning.…

The first part of self assessing me was pretty important because it was a sum of my whole lifestyle in one. Giving me an overall look on what I should change or if I should even change any of my habits. My smoking score was a perfect 10, which was not surprising at all to me. My alcohol/drug score for this was seven points because I do drink. The score for my eating and exercising habits were perfect because I do a good job when it comes to eating right and working out on a daily. My stress control score was an eight, but I do understand why. I do know that I stress to some extent. My last score was safety and the score for that was a nine. I think my life is pretty amazing if you ask me.…

My strongest dimension on the personality spectrum was kinesthetic. I think that the results of this test best describes the way that I learn best. Kinesthetic learning style refers to a way of acquiring knowledge in which the learner uses sense of movement to gain information about the world. This learning style is sometimes referred to as kinesthetic-tactile. Kinesthetic learners tend to loose interests in activities that rely purely on listening and viewing. Kinesthetic learners work best in activities that incorporate physical activity. I think that I learn best by using my hands, because when I can do hands on activities I pick up very well. When I can learn things by doing them I also tend to retain the skill easier.…

The Human Relations Abilities Assessment Form made me aware of my strengths and weaknesses that I use in human relations. This form gave me a better understanding of myself and made me think of the things that I do that I often don’t think about. The first thing that I discovered was that I have I have good listening skills. The first weakness that I discovered was that I am not conscious of how I express nonverbal messages when I am communicating with others. This is not when dealing with others because I do not want to give people the wrong impression of what I am thinking when communicating. I realized with this form that I doubt myself and do not have very high self-esteem. I tend to let my past failures affect me in a negative way. I worry about the mistakes I have made and sometimes let that get the best of me. I do expect a lot from myself but when I do not succeed the first time that I doubt myself and sometimes do not want to try again.…

Academic success: is performing consistently well in an academic setting such as school and being able to perform your personal best. Personality means the characteristic ways of thinking, feeling and acting that make the person an individual. Eysenck came up with two main personality factors: extroversion-introversion and emotional stability-instability. They considered that by looking at how a person scored on these two factors, you could describe their personality. A person who was high on extroversion and stability would be carefree and show leadership whereas one who was high on extroversion but unstable would be likely to be restless and aggressive. An expanded set of factors is known as the Big Five- McCrae and Costa, these include, openness to experience, conscientiousness, extroversion, agreeableness, and neuroticism. These personality traits are expressed in learning styles. Openness is a general appreciation for art, curiosity and imagination. This trait distinguishes people who are more imaginative to those who are down-to-earth. A child who has a more active imagination will be more likely to create stories, be better readers and develop better writing skills. Conscientiousness is a tendency to be organised, to show self-discipline and aim for achievement. In a learning environment conscientious individuals achieve high levels of success through purposeful planning and persistence. Extroverts tend to be enthusiastic, sociable and love excitement. Opposed to introverts who lack energy and tend to be quiet and reserved. Agreeableness is the tendency to be compassionate and cooperative with others. Cooperation is one of the most important things kids learn in early childhood, and so more agreeable children would make a better adjusted classroom.…
