Describe myself? Well I dont know if you really want to get to know my crazy lifestyles. But I suppose I can tell you a little bit. Hello my name is Tawny Tee Barry, Was born and raised back in South Dakota. I have an older sister Taylor, older brother Wade, and one younger brother Windsor. (yes it's after the alcoholic beverage) My paretns are Wade and Cleo Barry. Alright thats enough about my family, let's get down to business. I am a very out going and fun person to be around, I love to talk, and have fun with others. I was raised where you tell people what you are thinking, and not to let anyone talk down on you and/or do the same to otheres. My parents taught me when I was younger that we communicate with others with "yes mam," and "no sir." I always wondered why when I was little, but now that I am older I understand that it is the more respectful thing to do. The way that I talk to people today has gotten me very far in life. Taking the time to talk to your elders, classmates, friends, and parents in a respectuful manner can make or break a person. For example, are you going to go up to your boss and say, "Why the hell can't I get Friday off for work?" or would you say, "Hey boss would it be possible to please get Friday off, I have something going on." It's the little things in life like that, that people are going to remember you as. There is one specific time that I remeber, when I was at a restaurant with my family in Rapid City a couple years ago, I held the door open for a lady. She said thank you, you are such a nice young lady. Later on I met that same lady in the food line and I simply let her go in front of me and you could just see the smile on her face. When I sat back down at the table that my family was at, that lady came over to the table and said to my mom, "your daughter is one of the most respectful young lady's I have ever met." Things like that make you look so good as an individual. Another example, a couple of my friends say "man"

Although I am a little rough around the edges, I have a soft spot in my heart for those whom I love. My family keeps me going through the good, the bad, and the ugly. My parents are still happily married, even through twenty-two years of putting up with four children. My three sisters are amazing. Their names are Shannon, Ashley, and Lynnsy. I do, in fact, play favorites when it comes to siblings. Ashley is my favorite because she is always around helping me with whatever I need. I also am very close to my cousin, Matt Hare, and his family. I consider everyone an acquaintance because I do not like to get too close to people emotionally. If there was ever anything that any of my family needed, I would do everything I could to help them obtain it..…

On the self-assessment inventory, I scored between 76 and 88 out of 100 on each key competency except for the Change and Across Cultures competencies. My scores were within the numerical range for 68% of managerial professionals that completed this self-evaluation. For the most part, I see myself as very good on a number of the skills such as balancing my personal and work life, embracing uniqueness, supporting the goals of a team, and making ethical business decisions. For the Across Cultures competency, I am lacking in global experience and the skills to recognize the differences of various cultures and customs. In addition, I need to improve on recognizing, leading, and implementing adaptations when needed by teams and organizations.…

I prefer to be true to myself, even at the endangerment of finding the ridicule of others, rather than to be false, and finding my own detestation. Why should I worry about what others think of me? I don’t give a shit about how others perceive my personality because to begin with, I know myself and I also know my own demons — in which, at the outset, are just conventional behaviors of an ordinary human being.…

1 In the essay "A Brother's Murder," Brent Staples writes about his younger brother, Blake, who took a very different path in life than Staples did. 2 The essay starts with a phone call in which Staples learns that Blake has been murdered, shot six times by a former friend (517). The essay goes on to tell about the conditions in which Blake grew up. The neighborhood in which the brothers lived was violent, and young men grew into dangerous adults. Staples recalls a conversation he overheard there between two Vietnam veterans, in which one of them said how much he preferred to fight with young men from the inner city, who wear "their manhood on their sleeves." They weren't afraid to fight, believing that violence proved they were real men (518).…

The Harry Potter obsession is fueled by the charismatic characters and the ultimate fantasy that is colorfully painted throughout the novel. Children become hypnotized by the magic spells, the amazing conjuring of potions, the exciting adventures and creatures that could only be found in the deep realms of your mind. This is frightening to some, especially the crazy bible-thumping Christians, Radical Muslims, and crazy parents who are completely blind to the development in today’s youth. These are just a few examples of groups who disagree with this book. But why? Exactly what I said above, They believe that these books provide some sort of brainwashing method embedded deep within the pages of this book. They are afraid that children will convert to some of these “Witch-Craft” techniques and “rituals” which are commonly mentioned throughout the novels. Understandably, parents dislike the violence and death that is plagued though out the novel, but that adds a key element to the book, suspense and excitement.…

During my college level education, I have been very intrigued by the field of science. Specifically, the subject which interests me the most is microscopic molecules and organisms. The class that I believe sparked my interest was my second semester of general biology at Paradise Valley Community College. During this class, I was introduced to the intricate details of cells and the idea that microscopic organisms outnumber all other living things on Earth. This class also provided me with information about viruses, which quickly became most interesting topic for me.…

I often cringe at the thought of sharing my past experiences with others. Not because I am ashamed, but because people tend to make me a victim. Alcohol abuse, drug abuse, physical abuse, sexual abuse, verbal abuse – I was victimized, but I am not a victim. And for once, I would like to share these aspects of my life without being provoked to anger and self-pity. So, here we are, at the beginning of my “awakening”.…

Learning new ways and styles to write different kinds of papers was a good thing to add to my education and work experience. Philosophy Essay on Self

The most fundamental of the questions man asks himself in his lifetime are, "what/who am I ?"and "what is my purpose?" The curiosity over this issue of 'the self' has spanned human thought for millennia rooting from societal notion that "life cannot be just bricks and cement". Due to the inherent nature of these fundamental curiosities mankind has struggled from ancient times to uncover these mysteries. In the western-context, this brief essay will try to explore the dimensions of the "essence of self" ranging from medieval to the modern conception of self. It will review the theories of self starting with Aristotelian science and Christian doctrines and their eventual marriage by St. Thomas Acquinas' moral theory. In effect, it then explores critical viewpoints and traces the development of Scientific Rationalization. Progressively, it debates Rene Descartes' rationalist views shaping his dualistic conception of the self. Furthermore, it poses the contrasting empiricist views of John Locke where he places self-consciousness and memory as the variables to comprehend self. In addition, it contests David Hume's proclamation of the self as fiction (Robinson, H., 2012).…

My previous experience before commencing on the level 3 in counselling was at a level 2 stage. Level 2 was attained at York College in an environment where people had been put on the course who were in receipt of job seekers allowance and did not necessarily want to be on the course but who's hands had been forced in order to remain in receipt of benefits. It was apparent that many of them did not want to be in the learning environment and as such many did not take the course very seriously. Some of the course participants were disruptive and uncooperative in class which I found disruptive to my studies not only within the classroom but also with me having to deal with a certain level of anger and frustration within myself that my own learning opportunity was being disrupted. On reflection, I could have used this as an opportunity for personal growth. If I had approached the tutor to share my concerns and work through my frustrations it would have been a useful learning opportunity from a counselling perspective.…
