Self Driving Cars Near Future
Sally is a future self driving car in 2057 and is like the new developing self driving cars we are see today in 2017. “Americans need to get ready. Self-driving cars will soon be in their rearview mirrors.”(Peterson). Self driving cars will start be more common in the near future. “I said, "But it works by itself, Mr. Harridge. It scans the road, reacts properly to obstacles, humans, and other cars, and remembers routes to travel."(Asimov 3). The new self driving cars are more likely to scan the road and see objects that are in the way.
Self-driving cars could reduce the risk of car accidents and crashes. “Self-driving cars have the potential to save thousands of lives lost on the nation's roads each year and to change the lives of the elderly and the disabled.”(Lowy). Self driverless cars are capable of saving more lives in car accidents. “Those were the days when blind war veterans, paraplegics and heads of state were the only ones who drove automatics.”(Asimov 3). In both the Newsela and Sally articles, it talks about how the self driving cars help disable or injured people.
