Scorpions Character Analysis
When discussing conflict everyone has their own definition, but it would generally be agreed that it requires a disagreement between individuals within a group. However, my definition of conflict would be a mental struggle between the character and a clash between two or more characters with different interests. A conflict presents itself in various forms. It may also come willingly or unwillingly affecting a person's mind or a person's actions. A conflict can either be a blessing or a curse. This essay will show how 3 books with different conflicts changed a character's life or the characters' way of thinking. That was until he started to realize he said "African Americans had fewer rights than Caucasians". His conflict was he started to give up. He didn't have hopes or dreams! He didn't know what he wanted to do with his life. The conflict made him realize he needed to change his bad behavior. It made him realize fighting and acting atrocious won't get you nowhere in life and you have to set an example and make a good change not only for yourself but for the world!
“Scorpions” by Walter Dean Myers, "13 Reasons Why" by Jay Asher, and "Bad Boy" by Walter Dean Myers all had different conflicts but managed to have a good outcome. In "Scorpions" Jamal had to decide to join a gang for the right reasons but in the end had a wrong outcome and made him mature. In "13 Reasons Why" Hannah Baker showed the students that treated her bad how she felt on how they treated her. It made them come to their senses and change for the better. Walter in “Bad Boy " realized acting a fool wouldn't get him anywhere and he needs to change his life around. Overall everyone changed for the
