Scholarship Essay
My name is Shadonna Bryson, I am a student at the Washington Adventist University in Takoma Park, Maryland. My major is in Business Administration. I have chosen this academic degree to achieve my goal of being a Budget Analyst in the Federal Government. Currently, I am working part time and have limited income for the academic year. This limitation will make it difficult to continue my undergraduate work while being in great financial difficulty. Receiving the scholarship will provide me with the peace of mind and security to manage my rent, utilities, transportation and book expenses. The scholarship will allow me the time to focus on maintaining my 3.0 GPA, take up full load of classes while simultaneously preparing for my research paper without comprising my GPA. Unfortunately, due to several challenges I was unable to graduate for Prince Georges Community College in the usual 2 year period but did in 9 years which contained some very value life lessons about character and endurance. My post college plans include the obvious of obtaining a position in the federal government as a Budget Analyst. However, I would like to pay forward into the lives of young African Americans. . Ideally, I would like to establish a 501-C organization that provides hands on work experience and financial assistance to student participants. The most rewarding experiences in during my college career were outside of the classroom walls. As a manager at Levi’s were involved in several charity events such as feeding the homeless and providing Summer Youth Work programs for high school students within Prince Georges County. The opportunity to work in the community as a business manager contributed to the social and economic development of several young adults and has contributed to my learning and personal development. Often, we are not able to pay back all those who have contributed to our successes in life; however I have found it very rewarding to pay
