Same sex marriage
Marriage is considered to be a union and a promise of love between a man and a woman. Many couples evoke in marriage to experience life’s pleasures and emotional downfalls together. However as joyous and intimate as this event sounds; many gay and lesbian couples in the U.S are not allowed to part take in such a happy occasion, because of their sexual perforation. There were 646,464.00 gay couples whom are not married, in the United States in 2010(The New America).Who are hardworking tax paying citizens. These very citizens are not allowed to take part in such a personal sacred festive event. The current policy on same sex marriage needs to be revoked. By denying marriage for gay and lesbian couples is wrong… Same sex marriage should be legalized in all fifty states. These individuals should have equal rights of marriage, regardless of sexual perforation. Some may even agree that prohibiting gay marriage is unconstitutional. Equal rights have been a tug and pull issue for religious reasons. Many religious groups do not agree on same sex marriage because they feel as though same sex marriage is not a religious right. According to a July 31, 2003 statement from the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith and approved by Pope John Paul II, marriage "was established by the Creator with its own nature, essential properties and purpose. No ideology can erase from the human spirit the certainty that marriage exists solely between a man and a woman (procon.org).This may bring a lot of uncertainty for those pro same sex union. However many may a have a different perspective on the bible’s translation. In the King James Bible” So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them (www.Biblos.com).This verse could definitely advantage the gay community. God created man in his own image. He created his people in the way he wants them. For example if he created man to be attracted to man, then God made him that way. God chooses the path of these individuals and homosexuality is a given right from God. No law or church should hold sexuality against them. The Union of gay and lesbian couples should be legalized. Many Churches are now accepting of man’s natural right from God. Reverend Canon Mary Glasspool from the Episcopal Church became the second openly gay bishop in church history (Terril). Even a woman chosen by God to worship him as her duty, is a homosexual. Prohibiting gay marriage is unconstitutional it violates our rights as citizens .As individuals it’s up to us to make our own lives with whom we choose. Recently the Obama administration made history on March 1, 2013. They filed a brief at the Supreme Court arguing for the first time on behalf of the U.S. Government, that a law denying loving and committed gay and lesbian couples the ability to marry is unconstitutional (Griffin).We as United States Citizens should be guranteed the right to the life liberty and the pursuit of happiness. Not being able to marry whom we choose is hypocritcal in addition it goes against the very document, that our great nation was built on, The Declareration Of Indepence. So as the United States modernizes from its old conservative ways.There are several states in our nation that approve of the union of gay and lesbian couples.Such as the State of, Connecticut, Iowa, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New York, Vermont, and Washington. (Same Sex Marriage in the United States.)There are 131,729.00 who’s gay and lesbian couples ,who’s marriage are validated in the United States (Same Sex Marriage in the United States.).These are immenient factors of change .We as a nation should accept and embrace the revolution for the sake of others. Gay and lesbian couples have the right to be happy just as a heterosexual would. Every human being is unique in their own special way . We should not deny their happiness because their sexual orienatation. The United States is a melting pot of diversity.This diversity is a good contribution to our country.By accepting and not judging the sexuality of one another. This shows us the acceptance of diversity that this great country consist of. By revoking the policy of same sex marriage and making it legal.We could become an even stronger nation, that is known for its acceptance of diversity of our people.
