Salad of My Life
The Salad of My Life In my short seventeen years of living on this wonderful planet, I have embraced many situations and encountered numerous people who have made me who I am today. I commonly refer to myself as a salad, because I am a mixture of many different qualities, experiences, and aspects that make me, me. Coincidentally, my favorite food is Caesar salad so I consider myself a Caesar salad. I have three laws of life I live by, and I compare these to the three main parts of me, a Caesar salad. The three basic parts to a Caesar salad are the lettuce, the dressing, and the parmesan cheese. The first part is the main aspect of any salad, the lettuce. My life that is my “lettuce” is, your life is what YOU make of it. This is so true, because we can’t help the families we’re into or the places we live as children, but as humans we have the power to make the best out of any situation we are put in. If a person is pessimistic about everything in their lives, they won’t be happy with his/herself and therefore his/her life won’t be enjoyable. My goal each day is to make the best of whatever situation I am put in that day, whether its work, school, or athletics, and it truly does work. The second aspect of my salad is the dressing. My law of life for my dressing is, live to the fullest each and every day, because we’re not guaranteed tomorrow. This law is especially important to me, because in my life I have been forced to realize the reality that life is so precious and can be taken away in an instant. Personally, I have realized that in our society we live like we’re guaranteed to live until we’re one hundred, and that’s sadly not the truth. I feel as humans we should try and accomplish as much as we can each day, not putting things off, because we don’t know if we’ll honestly ever get to do them. My final aspect of my salad is the parmesan cheese. My last law of life is, God will never put you in a situation you can’t handle. God is my rock, and I look to

“Dream as if you’ll live forever, live as if you’ll die today.” I chose to put this quote on my paper bag because it is a quote that I believe everyone should live by, and it is also my life’s motto. I also chose to decorate this bag with fall leafs for two reasons. One, because fall begins on September 22nd, and two, fall is one of my favorite seasons. Now I will show you a few things that both describe me and are most important to me.…

Your life is what you make it. In Ron Rash’s The World Made Straight, Lori and Dena are perfect examples of this statement. Both Lori and Dena realize that their lives are rough but they are different because Lori applies herself to everything she does and makes wise decisions because she is determined to strive for a better life. However, Dena’s actions show that she does not care about where her life will end up because she does not believe it can get any better.…

The person I was in the early ages had very low amounts of people to depend on for help, needing someone to talk to, and friends were all running low. Eventually, as the years passed I ran along a bunch of friends, new family members, I saw my soccer ball as a friend and not as an object, my family started to reunite once again, and then that special someone came along. The quote says, “That seems to be the way of things. Everyone takes, everyone gives. Life is like that.” at this point Siddhartha is talking to the merchant; apparently the merchant lives off of the goods of others and Siddhartha believes that is basically what life really is. The second quote I chose was written by Hesse, “You have chosen a splendid life…” this part of the book Siddhartha is talking to the Ferryman about how he chose a wonderful life living by the river. Furthermore, I chose this quote that represented me because I really do not regret anything I have done in order to be the person I am now; I love the life I live no matter what anybody says because I worked hard to be…

Life is different than what everybody thinks, they all think that life is beautiful and can give you a lot of good stuff, well it might but sometimes not. It’s actually so tough for some people. In the novel Tangerine by Edward Bloor, the choices that were made by the characters had major impacts on them. Paul struggled with himself that he did not believe in what he can do. His fear from Erik was the biggest impact that changed his life and the choices he might need to take. The choices that the characters made did not help others a lot. Paul’s choices made him gain friends that helped him be more confident in what he does.…

Her outlook on the situation is that, as long as you try to continue living to the fullest, you will enjoy every day that you have, because you are not guaranteed tomorrow. I think that her view on life can be used by every person, because people that do have the ability to go and do things often times don’t, they choose instead to sit at home or complain about the things that really do not matter all that much at all. If people were willing to live each day like it was their last, people would have a greater appreciation of things like their health and their family and…

For me, this rings so true. I have known far too many people who have lost their lives too early due to uncontrollable situations. They never had a chance to live out all of their dreams and ambitions. But for those of us who are still fortunate enough to be on this earth, we shouldn’t take life for granted. We are blessed with only a certain amount of time in this world. It’s a sin to waste it and go after what you really long for in life.…

Wayne Cordeiro puts it “You are one attitude away from a great life” The life that we live today is because of the life we have lived yesterday, together with all the right and wrong decisions made. If we choose to live a successful future life, we ought to carefully make the right decisions now. More so, look for something to improve in ourselves. Develop what needs to be developed in us. If we all ought to increase even just 1 percent of daily improvement, we will soon find out that at the end of the year, we have become 300 percent better than the previous year.…
