INTRODUCTION
A chemical fertilizer is a substance applied to different soils or directly onto plants to provide nutrients optimal for their growth and development. The essential nutrients contained in these fertilizers are nitrogen, phosphorous, and potassium (NPK), as well as other nutritional substances in smaller amounts all presented in a form that can easily be absorbed and metabolized by plants. Chemical fertilizers have become a staple in many yards and gardens, and can be a key component of a healthy lawn care routine.

Analysis of fertilizers refers to have a qualitative analysis of each fertilizer so as to find out the cations and anions present in it.
It also includes to find the acidity and basicity of the fertilizer with the help of pHsolution.
Morever I would also find out the solubility of the fertilizer in universal and organic solvent.
To end the analysis I would furthermore test the presence of biuret which is toxic for plants and thus impairs plant growth.

PRINCIPLE
Qualitative analysis means to analyse cations and anions and other elements present in the given samples. The physical and chemical `properties will be observed for the different samples.Principles behind the qualitative analysis are the le chatelier’s principle and the common ion effect.
Le chatelier’s principle states that if a system in equilibrium is subjected to a change of concentration, temperature or pressure, the equilibrium shifts in a direction that tends to undo the effect of change imposed.
If to an ionic equilibrium, a salt containing a

In this experiment, we are basically testing the use of different fertilizers on the growth of Duckweeds. Plants need fertilizers for their growth and to increase the yield of crops. But, at the same time, it depends on which Fertilizer being used and in how much proportion. Does it have sufficient nutrients or excessive nutrients? These were the questions, which I asked myself and through some research, I was able to write my Hypothesis.…

Qualitative analysis, a branch of analytical chemistry, deals with the identity of a substance found in a given sample, and not the amount of substance in it. It only concerns the substances present or absent in a given sample. Qualitative analysis is therefore used to determine unknown ions present in chemical samples by observing and analyzing results from various reactions of the sample with chemicals.…

The reasonable NPK ratios are very necessary for crops’ growing. NPK compound fertilizer is available in liquid or granular form, and some granular fertilizer is in a slow-release formula. A numbering system is used to define the percentages of the three essential plant nutrients. For example, a 20-20-10 fertilizer would contain 20 percent nitrogen, 20 percent phosphorus and 10 percent potassium. Secondary nutrients and trace elements are typically listed.…

Nutrients naturally found in soil are very essential for the growth of plants. However, sometimes these nutrients in the soil might not be sufficient to stimulate the plant growth. This is where fertilizers, the nutrient supplements for plant come handy. There are two types of fertilizers which are mostly used by plant and they are organic and inorganic fertilizer.…

The main difference between a chemical and an organic fertilizer is that the former come out of a lab and the organic one comes from living beings. A chemical fertilizer is synthetically prepared to include the vital nutrients that are necessary for the plant's growth process. All of them contain the normal NPK requirement and any other nutrients as required.…
