Rue In The Hunger Games
In Chapter 15 of Suzanne Collins, The Hunger Games, Katniss offers an alliance option to Rue almost in slight desperation. Rue is somewhat confused as to why Katniss would want her as an ally. Katniss explains in the book, “Why not? You saved me with those tracker jackers. You’re smart enough to still be alive. And I can’t seem to shake you anyway.” Rue seems to trust Katniss so she agrees and they plan to destroy the Career’s supplies. However, when Rue gets caught and killed, Katniss hurries to kill Rue’s killer. When she saw Rue she would think of Prim and became extremely protective of her. She honors Rue by covering Rue’s body with flowers and sang to her until she died. This proves that Katniss did not think of Rue as just an ally, but
