Katniss Everdeen My hero is Katniss Everdeen. Katniss is a hero because she fits the traits that a hero has. To most people a hero is someone who has noble qualities and preforms phenomenal achievements. She is the main character in the book The Hunger Games. Katniss is a sixteen year old girl who lives in District 12. During the reaping of the 74th annual Hunger Games, Katniss' younger sister Prim is chosen for the reaping. Katniss quickly volunteers to take place of her sister. Katniss Everdeen demonstrates Habits of Mind and Habits of Character.

    For Katniss, survival has become more than just hiding out and avoiding the Careers; she recognizes that truly to survive, she must play the Game to win. Now in the Catching Fire book, “A mockingjay is a creature the Capitol never intended to exist.
