Romeo's Strengths And Weaknesses
A protagonist of a play with fame, such as William Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet, is one with many strengths and weaknesses that are showcased throughout the play, Shakespeare uses a series of dramatic events to display these elements of multiple characters, one more so than others, by the name of Romeo. Romeo shows many signs of being a smart, polite gentlemen who excels in fighting as he bravely stands up for what he believes in. Although he has these qualities, he also possesses a number of undeniable weaknesses like his stubbornness and his many rash, poorly-thought through acts. Romeo is a very deep character who has many strengths along with a number of weaknesses that become more and more apparent as the hands on the clock turn.
Romeo often demonstrates an impressive amount of strong qualities like his great fighting skills, fast thinking, courage, and his kindness towards his enemies. During the play he takes part in two fights to the death, both in which he was standing up for what he believes in.These fights occur in (III.I.137-41) and (V.III.70-3). Equally, if not more often, he is presented as a rash, over emotional, and stubborn young man who falls in love far too quickly. These weaknesses are present to demonstrate to the audience that if one is too rational or haste in their decisions, they can and will lead to tragic endings.
