William Shakespeare has the reputation of being a legend in the art of theater, poetry, and sonnets. His plays are considered to be the greatest in the field. Plays like, Romeo and Juliet, Hamlet, and Julius Caesar, had an impact on today’s literature. Romeo and Juliet was a well-known romantic tragedy, featuring two, star-crossed lovers, with a main theme of “us against the world.” Over the years, people have improvised and reimagined the piece. An example of a reimagining is the play, #R</3J, which is set on a modern setting. The main characters, R and J, were portrayed as a modern counterpart of the original. The play delved on the mystery and definition of love. It effectively carried out the message it was trying to send, and some scenes
