These well-known words were said to Katniss and Peeta as they head into The Hunger Games for the very first time, and also told upon Romeo as he was banished from the city of Verona. The love between Peeta and Katniss, the violence, the time period, and the characteristics of the people makes this story very comparable to The Tragedy of Romero and Juliet.
Both story lines are having to deal with love and hatred. Katniss and Gale grew up together, always having feelings for each other. Then Katniss realized she liked Peeta more than Gale as time went on. Gale and Romeo are very similar in the way that they both thought that they found the one true love for themselves. Rosaline and Katniss eventually do not like either Romeo or Gale, although Rosaline makes that a lot more noticeable for Romeo than Katniss does for Gale. Haymitch and Friar Laurence are both there to be their guides and leaders. As they seem to always know what is happening, and involved in everyone’s business. Katniss and Juliet also seem to be similar in the aspect that they both fought for a cause that was treasured in their lives. Katniss fought in The Hunger Games for her district and family, which was risking her life. Juliet risked her life by taking a potion, which lasted 48 hours, to be with her true love.

There were many scenes of love in both of these plot lines that affected a lot of people.
