Romarm Cugir: A Short Story
One by one I loaded the hollow point bullets into the magazine of the AK-47 Romarm Cugir. “Are you ready?” Aaron asked me “Not yet, I think we should wait till lunch when everyone is gathered up and I still haven’t finished loading up my AK” “I don’t wanna keep waiting, it’s already 10:20 and we’ve been waiting since 7.” “Well we’ll have a better chance of getting all of them if they’re all gathered up in one room so let’s just wait it out. “Fine but at 11:05 I’m heading out, whether you’re with me or not.” “Alright fine. Do you remember the plan?” “Yea yea we’ve been over this like 50 times. “Alright I just don’t want you to bail.” “I won’t, I promise.” And with that we waited. We sat in Aaron’s car until 11:04. We picked up …show more content…
Aaron got up onto the table and flipped the safety switch from on to off. He fired two shots into the ceiling to get everyone’s attention. “I WANT EVERYONE TO SIT DOWN RIGHT NOW, AND I DON’T WANT ANYONE UNDER THE TABLES I WANT YOU ALL IN YOUR SEATS.” This was my cue. I reached down under into my duffel bag and pulled out my AK-47, joining Aaron on top of the table. I looked around and saw everyone’s faces filled with anguish and horror. The cafeterias eerie silence made it easier for us to speak up. For the first time, people were actually paying attention to what he had to say and it was an incredible feeling. No one moved a muscle and no one made a peep, we were in complete control. “Anybody know who we are?” I shouted Why didn’t anyone raise their hand? Someone must have at least known our names. Right? Well if they didn’t know us before this happened, then they’ll sure as hell remember us now. We’re gonna go down in history as the two most infamous school shooters in all of the United …show more content…
He was merciless, and he showed no emotions whatsoever when he pulled that trigger. Aaron was starting to get this wild look on his face, almost as if he was blood thirsty. He suddenly just began to go up to random students and started shooting; again with no emotion, I called over to him. “Aaron, stop with them and let’s go for who we really came for.” “Awe c’mon just a couple more of them. Please? I like seeing their bodies drop and I- “NO!” A shout that could be heard across the entire school. “Hey, alright calm down we’re in this together, right?” I hesitated. And with that one hesitation it was all over. I knew from the beginning that Aaron had an uncontrollable temper and I was starting to think he was losing his mind once he started drawing pictures of the mutilated corpses of dead classmates. He walked up to me and leaned into my ear. Whispering, “Don’t get cold feet on me, and no matter what we’re both going down for this since you already killed Nolan, remember that?” I gently pushed him off me and he gawked at me. He raised his gun. I didn’t think he’d go that far but he raised it and told me to sit down like everyone else. Is Aaron going crazy? We were doing this toge- “BANG!” the final

Cuauhtemoc the cat sprinted alongside the Spirit of the forest, and his tail flapped behind him like a flag. Occasionally he would stumble--not just because the ground was uneven but because things kept erupting out of it. A fleet of deer, a flight of squirrels, mounds of loamy soil, mazes of dewy grass, a kitten crying out at the first light of the sun, a lion exulting over a meal. All the while, a chorus of golden birds followed them and sang a dizzy tune to the beat of their Mother. The Spirit. The charging wolf.…

Then he pulled the trigger and there was a shot. Bang. One more person dead in the city. It's getting to be a vice. First he grabbed the revolver that was in a desk drawer, rubbed it gently across his face, put it to his temple, and pulled the trigger. Without saying a word. Bang. Dead. Let's recapitulate: the office is grand, fit for a minister. The desk is ministerial too, and covered with a glass that must have reflected the scene, the shock. Ismael knew where the gun was, he'd hidden it there himself. So he didn't lose any time, all he had to do was open the right-hand drawer and stick his hand in. Then he got a good hold on it and rubbed it over his face with a certain pleasure before putting it to his temple and pulling the trigger. It was something almost sensual and quite unexpected. He hadn't even had time to think about it. A trivial gesture, and the gun had fired. There's something missing: Ismael in the bar with a glass in his hand thinking over his future act and its possible consequences. We must go back farther if we want to get at the truth: Ismael in the cradle crying because his diapers are dirty and nobody is changing him. Not that far. Ismael in the first grade fighting with a classmate who'll one day become a minister, his friend, a traitor. No, Ismael in the ministry without being able to tell what he knew, forced to be silent. lsmael in the bar with the glass (his third) in his hand, and the irrevocable decision: better death. Ismael pushing the revolving door at the entrance to the building, pushing the swinging door leading to the office section, saying good morning to the guard, opening the door of his office. Once in his office, seven steps to his desk. Terror, the act of opening the drawer, taking out the revolver, and rubbing it across his face, almost a single gesture and very quick. The act of putting it to his temple and pulling the trigger -…

I know people in the class suggested he's a sociopath and is unable to feel emotion which was proven to be untrue based on how he reacted after shooting the man, because truly under it all, he was just a student probably only 18-21 years old who had a life and at least one sibling. In my opinion the man was ok or even excited, about killing because he thought he was doing it for a good cause and was defending something he believed in. Maybe he thought after the war he would be deemed a hero for his services. None of that mattered thought when he realized he took his own brother’s life. It put it into perspective that even if him and his own brother were fighting on opposite sides he still wouldn’t want to hurt him. This story really made made me think about my own brother who I don’t have an outstanding relationship with as far siblings go. More often than not we’re fighting with each other and rarely do we agree on things but I know I still love him since he is my brother and I know we care and look out for eachother.…

The next thing I heard was the sound of gunshots, and the chilling sound of screams ringing out in the street. I knew I must shoot at those who threatened our country’s safety, though I stood petrified staring at the bloodied bodies that fell, staggering to the ground. The officer next to me brought me out of delusions and back to earth, he said, “Fight! Fight for your country! Fight for your family!” I then knew what to do. I then shot aimlessly into the children, knowing they were suffering, but I knew this was right. Knowing if I did not stop these children my family could be in danger. I felt like we were doing our job, protecting our country.…
