Personal Narrative: Working At Blink
I knew what I had done as soon the first gunshots rang out. I knew that part of this was my fault, but strangely, I was okay with it. I was okay with whatever would play out that fateful day.
Originally I was never supposed to be swept up into this mess, I was supposed to just go to work and do my job; now that would forever change.
Three months ago everything was normal, I lived an ordinary life with my twin sister, Adrian, who I loved to death. As twin sisters we were inseparable and we always did everything from school projects to hanging out with friends together. There were very few occasions where we were not by each other’s side. In fact, we even wanted to get the same job for our Assignment.
In our society, the day one turns 18 is the

Both Adrian and I had a similar dream: to be Assigned to work at Blink. Blink is a corporation where workers essentially run all sorts of different simulators and take different tests. The different simulations and tests are all meant to tell the government different things about our society and sectors, such as what we like and things that we want changed. It’s a very important job, but it’s difficult to have the right characteristics to work there. Luckily for Adrian and I, both of our parents work at Blink already, which means that we are very susceptible to have the right characteristics to work …show more content…
Also, if your job is in a different sector you will have two weeks to move to a foster family in that district before you can attend the training seminars. You will be attending different training seminars for about the next month and a half, after that time is up you will have two weeks of absolute free time to complete the move from your parents house to your own house and to figure out living alone. You will both be allowed to move wherever you would like to within the working housing district, and be allowed to live with whomever you would like, granted that they are under 25 and living in the working housing district. Then, for the next 7 years you will live in the working housing district until you turn 25 and the Partnering process begins,” she paused. “Do you have any questions? There will of course be more in-depth information on this later after you’ve been assigned.” Adrian and I turned to each other and

Now this is where I`m supposed to write “all about me”. This is where I become lost. I mean, come on. I wouldn`t know where to start. Growing up I had two loving parents, they always wanted the best possible for me. School was always challenging for me. I never liked it, and I never had a good work ethic. It started when I was young, my parents never made me do chores, and they always rewarded me for minimal efforts of work, and it did not help me in the long run. I had a very easy life growing up, but being spoiled does not help when you become an adult. It’s very hard to just gain a work ethic, it takes a lot of time and effort.…

My personal mission statement is to be the best that I can be and work hard to help others be the best they can be. This statement is important to me because I have always found that I am at my best when I am helping people, whether its helping people at my job or at the grocery store. There are many things that fall into place with that, which to me, mainly includes education, because I am a student and I work in a college where I work with students and I listen to their problems and relate to them. So education is very important in general, but to me Community and Industry Education is very important and important to a lot of people. First off I have attended Tarrant County College and I have gained so much from that experience. I have gained…

The foster home environment is one that will encourage Tracey's independent living skills while allowing her to interact with people who are interested in helping her grow. The foster home offers a smaller, more independent situation than the group home, and prepares her for apartment living (Heward, 2013). Tracy currently has difficulties with transitions and is better with routine. The foster home offers a smaller environment in which interruptions and alterations to her schedule will occur on a smaller scale than it might in a group home. Hi, I’m Alex Venable. One thing that I fear are alligators or crocodiles. When I was little I always enjoyed watching this TV show that had two guys that would feed and wrestle alligators. One night the show wasn’t on so we did some research and found out why it wasn’t on. One of the guys had an accident and lost one of his hands. Following this event, they ended up shutting the show down because he was going to be unable to return and his co-host decided to quit the show also. This then caused me to have an irrational fear for alligators. My dad is the reason why I love cars. He has taught me everything I know and continues to introduce me to new things and experiences. We enjoy spending time together by doing at home work projects such as…

Ralph Waldo Emerson once said “To be yourself in a world that is trying to make you something else is a great accomplishment”. A question such as “who am I”? Really gives me the opportunity to differentiate and express who I really am and who I can be. I am not a complex person who thinks the world is against me, nor am I overly sophisticated “know-it-all” who doesn't take time to pay attention to my surroundings. I can't say that I am like every other person because there are certain things that make me a unique individual. What I can say is that I am progressing towards a brighter future.…

I feel that I am qualified to be an officer because I was a member, Vice-President, and then President of my high school’s volunteer club (Interact Club). I went to a small, Christian private school, and the club was student-lead with minimal help from our two faculty sponsors. The Interact Club was my greatest achievement in high school. Before my Secretary, and then Vice President and I came into office, even at our small school, many students, teachers and faculty were unaware of what Interact was and what we did in the community. We brought a new aura, publicity, worked exclusively with our Head of School, designed brand new t-shirts, brought in a new executive board, financial sponsors, and hosted our school’s very first talent show where…

As a particularly curious and proactive member of society, I consider myself to be civically engaged; although the degree of engagement can be argued. Personally, I believe that small things make up the larger picture, so my engagement is mostly interpersonal, as small interactions can set of chain reactions. Speaking out on issues with (or to) friends, politely engaging strangers in conversations and presenting different points of view, and constantly seeking to better myself is how I remain aware and knowledgeable on current issues, and also how I continue to learn new things and refine my thoughts. Not everyone is born to take center stage, and so we must all strive to do what we can, even if it’s simply a few words of encouragement or a…
