Rollercoaster Descriptive Writing
The Rollercoaster!
There was a hectic day lying ahead of me; the car park was more or less full now. Sun cream was slapped on by worried mothers and sun caps were plonked on top of children’s heads. Smiling faces jumped around, excited about the day ahead. The sun was beaming bright onto my face and I could see cars aligned together, in orderly rows like soldiers on parade.
Walking towards the rusty and rigid gates of the theme park, they opened slowly and excited children flooded in. In the distance, I could see the giant red rollercoaster and I couldn’t wait to have a go. It was suddenly very noisy; children were screaming and shouting like soldiers charging into battle. A sudden rush of butterflies hit me. I couldn’t wait to get going.

It was our turn for the swings and I sat in the wooden seat and locked the wooden bar in place. With sweaty palms, I clasped the bar as the seat rose up in the air. My stomach churned as we began to move. As we picked up speed, the air was filled with laughter and shrieking. High up in the air, I could see the all the rides as we spun around, as the ride slowed down, the swings gradually lowered until my feet touched the ground.
I ran straight for the rollercoaster and joined the queue. By now, my heart stopped pounding and I chatted happily to my friends. Again, a carriage flew by and more excited squeals filled the atmosphere, watching it as it looped around like a giant red serpent and as we got closer to the front of the queue. My heart began to pound with fear and excitement.
I was almost there… then the gate opened and we dashed forward. I climbed into a carriage. Fear gripped me like a huge hand and I wanted to get off but it was too late. The safety bar slammed down on my lap. We were ready to go and with a sudden jolt, we were off and up into the air. I felt a rush as we were flung around, as we crawled up to the top of the last drop, I felt as if I was going to be sick. At the top, we paused and I could see the whole of the park and tiny people like ants crawling around. Without warning, we dropped and everyone started screaming and shrieking. Everything was suddenly blurred and then we came to a stop. It was over and everyone

Climbing into the lime green car, my fear was over taking me. I was getting ready to ride the Titan, an adrenaline pumping roller coaster ride at Six Flags. It was easily the scariest ride at the park, in my opinion, with its enormous peaks, its deep descents, and double helix like turns was enough to make me sick. The ride began. Ascending up in the car on the canary yellow track, into the humidity filled, bright sky, the people observing from below resembled little army ants . The aerial view of Dallas was breathtaking, as I reached the peak of the ride and looked around. Passengers occupying the cars in front of me started falling off, like a cliff. I let out a high-pitched shrill, as we plummeted toward the Earth below. Traveling…

We have to!”, as I pointed to the gigantic blue and grey water slide, my mother's face scrunched up with disgust. For she doesn't like roller coaster nor huge water slides, exactly like this one just yonder. She turned back around and told my brothers and me to put some pep in our step so we can get to the rides, as if she didn't hear a word I just said. As my family moved along, I trudged behind because I knew we weren't going to the enormous water slide. After we went through the park and rode the other little water rides, and roller coasters, and of course the lazy river we decided to call it a day and head home, but since we were on the other half of the park, to walk back we had to pass the huge, terrifying, grey and blue water…

The outside smelled liked autumn. The wind was gentle. As my friend and I walked, the leaf crunched below our feet. When we reached the park it transformed. One playground became the ice castle. That had snow guard guarding all around the castle. The ponds sparkle from the sun that was surrounding the castle. As for the other playground lit up with fire, from stone to stone. I raced the fire queen to my castle.…

That summer day in 2009 had started off innocently enough. It was sweltering and humid, but my sister and I were still adamant on going to King’s Island, the biggest amusement park in the area. I had approached the emerald gates of the park blissfully unaware of the harrowing experience that lay ahead. We began our time at the park by riding the Spider, an ebony colored carnival ride that spun you around in circles until you became nauseated. After that sublime experience, we walked around the park for a bit to shake off the vertigo that plagued us and to find a prospective next ride. In fact, we were moving along splendidly on the taupe brick path that snaked through the park when my sister braked instantaneously, consequently causing me to trip over her heels. She pointed to a strategically dilapidated wooden sign and declared, “That one is next,”…

Six years later, but time still hadn’t changed my opinion. I looked at the ride, the unforgiving sun glinting on the cold steel. An icy shiver ran down my spine, my palms getting clammier by the minute. I glanced at my friend, jealous of her indifference. Hanging onto the railing, I silently cursed myself for being so afraid. So weak. This wasn’t about riding a roller coaster that scared me out of my wits anymore; it was about proving that I could conquer my fears. My pride wouldn’t let me have it any other way. From the moment that I agreed to go on the ride, I knew that I would have to follow through with my decision. I couldn’t be that little girl who was too frightened to have fun anymore. I didn’t want to be the one left on the bench while her friends ran off to enjoy themselves. The only way to change that would be to prove everyone wrong. To prove myself…

“Wooooshhhhh!!!” At blast off, California Screamin, took us through twists and turns, with an upside down loop. People were screaming their lungs out when the steel roller coaster soared into the air like a rocket. The terrifying speed made my toes curl and the strong wind pushed my head against the rubber black seat. I cried bloody murder on the coaster as it fell plumb down almost touching the ground. All too soon, it was over. After I got off of the thrill ride, I found my haggard look with disheveled hair through a snapshot picture. This is simply too awful to contemplate.…
